2026 vs 2025 ref sheet comparison
I think it’s interesting to see how my art changed in a year! Even though Hoover’s ref looks more or less the same lol. I feel like my lineart actually got thinner, but in exchange it’s a lot cleaner.
I also feel like the way I drew everyone (minus Hoover) makes them look a little older. Which I guess is fair bc they did technically get older lol.

Exercising my free will by drawing Toothpaste and Hoover Splatoon as little Among Us guys. And I guess Crest is technically here too.
Honestly I saw a bunch of people posting Among Us fanart and it just looked really fun to draw. And it was really fun to draw lol.
Also I posted my main character (minus Hoover) height chart a couple days ago, but are you ready for:
THE ULTIMATE INKFISH HEIGHT CHART!!
Featuring all 10 of my current inkfish characters. I can’t believe there’s 10 of them now.. All can be found on Art Fight as well, lol.
I wonder if posting the full chart will make people realize Toothpaste actually isn’t my shortest inkfish! I know them being short is a common joke though haha.
Also here’s the long awaited (by myself) inkfish rainbow!
I’m also realizing how absolutely abysmal my inkling:octoling ratio is but it’s mostly because 7 out of the 10 inkfish I have are flying squids, which are all by definition squids. I try to limit how many inkfish guys I make but I have a weakness for flying squids so I tend to make exceptions for them 😭
And for my last (probably) Art Fight ref redraw, here’s Hoover!! My fav little guy lol.
Honestly not much changed. It’s Hoover. His design has been pretty consistent for the past 5 or 6 years lol. The only tweaks are to some colors! Mainly the main lineart color and the green, so the values are more distinct.

Kind of random but I’ve had this concept itching away in the back of my mind and I finally decided to execute it bc I had a burst of inspiration the other day.
So uhh this is Freya!! She’s a revival of an old concept I had back in 2023 that I never finished, but she’s real now (but different)!
Here’s some basic info:
- She is a lesser flying squid (Todaropsis eblanae), and is a pretty young inkling. She’s only around 10 or 11, so hasn’t gotten her humanoid form yet.
- I think it may be obvious, but she really likes bugs. Even though she lives in the city now, she still carries her bug catching gear with her everywhere.
- Freya’s family very recently moved to Splatsville from a pretty rural area. One of Freya’s favorite activities used to be exploring the forests of her old home. She misses that a lot.
- A genuinely friendly and well-meaning girl, but she tends to scare people away with her eccentricity. She also quite independent and never really minds being alone. When she is around others, she’s more likely to try and take charge of things.
- She’s Hoover’s friend! Hoover likes to bring her over to his and Toothpaste’s apartment, much to her dismay. TP is glad Hoover has friends, but they wish Freya would stop releasing bugs inside their home..
