Before You Read.
⚠️Content Warnings⚠️
Blood - present in almost all pieces.
Violence - more so described but sometimes shown as well. Nothing too gory, though.
Death - pretty much the game's main theme, sometimes described and shown. Please be aware that child characters were not spared either.
Regardless, I'll mark posts with these tags accordingly:
#cw: blood
#cw: violence
#cw: death
#cw: child death

📌 A Few Words
I'm from Brazil and speak English as a second language. I admit sometimes my English failed me while writing this story so keep that in mind LMAO but hey, it's not like most of the characters are native speakers either soooo maybe that could help the immersion??? Lowkey???
Anyway. I started working on this story in 2023 and making this interactive game on Twitter was a very impulsive, VERY unplanned decision. I very much built most of the story as it went, so this is as raw and underdeveloped as you can get.
Many things happened in my life after the game ended and nowadays I'm in a sort of a weird spot when it comes to it. It brings me both a lot of pride and joy but also a lot of sorrow. There are many things I wanted to rework, to polish and to improve but I've also mostly fallen out of love with it and my free time to work on personal projects is severely limited.
Perhaps one day I'll revive it, but until then, I'd like to ask that my limits be respected.
📌 The Game
Every day, starting from the 13th of July 2023, the players had to collectively choose one of the main characters to be killed off. This was done simply by replying and I'd count the votes manually. Other features such as roleplaying were added later and had their own dynamics going on, but in general it was all very simple.
Glossary of roles:
Players/voters - the twitter users who directly interacted with the game, the ones responsible for voting the participants off and roleplaying with the characters, whether to try and piece together the lore or not.
Participants - characters who were eligible for being voted on.
Floor Masters - characters who served as mediators between the voters and the participants.
The Ringmaster - the mastermind behind the game (in-universe, not me!)
📌 The Cast (spoiler-free)
They're all Hetalia characters except they're not nations and have human backgrounds. They've been reworked quite a lot as a result so this interpretation is likely to diverge a lot from canon and other fan interpretations as well.
The Participants (from left to right)
Alfred F. Jones: computer science student
Erika Zwingli: highschooler
Kiku Honda: retired coroner
Johannis ‘Jan’ W. Meerman: defense attorney
Feliciano Vargas: classical arts teacher
Ludwig W. Beilschmidt: ancient history teacher
Gilbert Beilschmidt: convict
Mathias A. Kristiansen: security guard
Erzsébet Héderváry: professional boxer
Peter Väinämöinen-Oxenstierna: middle schooler
Berwald Oxenstierna: malewife (yes)
Arthur Kirkland: mystery novel writer
The Floor Masters
Who they are and their nature is kind of a spoiler so I won't elaborate :3c
📌 The AU
I usually just refer to it as YTTDTalia (I know it's kinda stupid but it stuck 😭). Death Game By Majority AU or Toonela Archive are also alternate names. As an AU it uses a lot of Your Turn to Die's concepts and structure but adapted into a Hetalia context, so it's not intended to be exactly the same as the original source.
As the story developed it did end up becoming its own thing as messy as it is right now lol.

HOWEVER, the theme I'm using has some bugs I don't know how to fix, so be mindful of a few things:
To start, while on the Home page, click the "First" button, not the "Previous" button.
If you click the "First" button anywhere else besides the Home page, an error will happen and you'll be transported to a page that doesn't exist!
