I don't understand why "Adrian doesn't like Grace at first" is as popular as it is on fanfics.
Imagine for a second you are Adrian surname The Eridian. Your spouse has been missing and presumed dead for around a decade, and suddenly one day an alien spaceship comes into orbit. And you cheer "Yay alien species have realized we have the same problem and have come to either give us a solution or join or efforts, too bad my mate is still gone."
Except he is not actually gone, because the eridian equivalent of a carebear decided to save them. And he doesn't want anything in return, in fact he is well aware that he might die A PAINFUL SLOW DEATH, shortly after fighting just to get the love of your life back to you. But it's ok :) because Rocky (yes he gave them a silly name) is my best friend! Oh- Are you ok-

I don't support Eva bashing that's emotional support environmental terrorist right there. What I'm interested in is the bad pr she is giving earth because the eridian ambassador is too invested in his flesh teddy bears life
Danny took most of the day to assemble six machines. They were decently simple things and took a bit less than an hour each, five hours in total. He might have tried for a seventh but he would have had to improvise a little bit with parts and Tucker reminded him they had to be back to his place for dinner and they were already going to be a bit late. Danny had almost forgotten!
They rushed back, Danny dragging Tucker behind him through half of the tunnels since he knew it so much better. They changed as quickly as they could and arrived back at Tucker’s place five minutes late and panting hard, though Danny’s heavy breathing was mostly performative.
“I’m so sorry! We lost track of time!” Tucker said, bracing his hands on his knees. “We ran basically all the way back from the library!”
“We’ll let it slide this time,” Mr. Foley chuckled at the two of them.
“Since dinner isn’t even cold yet there’s no reason not to, just this once,” Mrs. Foley agreed, beckoning for them to come join the family at the table. The food was warm and homey, flavourful and rich in a way that Alfred’s usually wasn't. Even though Danny loved Alfred’s cooking he also loved whenever he got to have dinner with the Foley family, it made him sort of nostalgic for a type of family he’d never actually had.
Once dinner was finished and Danny had helped wash the dishes, blushing under the praise of what a ‘nice young man’ he was, he escaped to Tucker’s room with him. He flopped back on Tucker’s bed with a soft groan that had Tucker laughing at him.
“Ya ya laugh it up, you had a nap today and I didn’t! On that note do you mind if I have a nap now? I could use it, especially since I still need to go back out tonight.”
“Of course, just let me put a movie on and you can sleep through it,” Tucker agreed, shuffling over to rifle through his DVD collection.
“Sounds good, nothing too exciting please?” Danny requested, rolling over on his side to watch Tucker pick. Once he put a movie on Danny dragged a throw blanket over himself and closed his eyes. He falls asleep quickly with the safe background noise of the movie and his friends muffled laughter and didn’t wake up again till Tucker turned off the movie, the sudden silence rousing him.
Danny sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes giving a questioning grunt that would make Batman proud.
“Movie’s done?” Tucker said, gesturing helpfully at the turned off tv.
“I see that,” Danny said, stifling a yawn. “What time is it?”
“Almost nine, mom poked her head in about ten minutes ago to check on us and left when she saw you were asleep. You’re probably safe to sneak out whenever you’re ready.” Tucker told him as he got up and started to putter around his room getting ready for bed as well.
“Great,” Danny yawned, stretching his arms out before getting up. “Thanks again for covering for me. I’ll probably be back between one and three AM, I’ll try not to wake you.”
“No worries dude, just be safe out there, okay?” Tucker asked, ever the worry-wart.
“I will, trust me,” Danny assured as he headed over to the window and slid it open to slip out. He jumped down and avoided cameras until he found a good place to slide on his costume. He was less careful as he ran the rest of the way to crime alley, sliding through the streets like a shadow until he was safe in the familiar dingy streets.
He went straight to his lab since he had already marked out the spots he wanted to set up his collectors, places of high activity far away from the borders of the Alley so the bars wouldn’t see them. They weren’t huge but he still couldn’t reliably carry more then one at a time especially since he was going to be setting them up in inaccessible locations. He internally groaned at all the back and forth he was going to be doing tonight, his legs were definitely going to be sore tomorrow.
He tucked the first device under his arm and set out for the roof of the oldest church in the area. He kept going nonstop for the next few hours, pausing only a couple of times to hydrate before carrying on knowing if he let himself sit down he’d have a much harder time getting up again. Thankfully he had also picked the locations with the idea he could easily check on all of them and still get some work done in a night so none of the locations were too far away.
Red Hood found him on his way back from setting up the last machine. Even without seeing his face Danny could tell from tightness in his shoulders that he was annoyed about something. Uh oh.
“You’re a hard kid to track down. What the fuck have you been doing all night?” Red Hood demanded roughly.
“Setting up my ecto-collectors. I’ll send you a map of their locations so you don’t worry about the strange devices. Check them out if you want and if any of them aren’t in safe locations for whatever reason let me know,” Danny drawled with a shrug. He pulled up his wrist display and quickly screenshotted his map with the live trackers he had on each of them and sent it to Hood, who just grunted when his phone pinged.
“And what about this afternoon? What the hell were you thinking bring a fucking civilian here?” Hood accused as he followed Danny, who refused to stop and have this conversation in public. They were going back to his lab.
“I know, but he asked to come.”
“That’s not an excuse and you know it!”
“Let’s talk about this while I draw some of your blood huh?”
Hood gave a startled huff and shook his head at Hafit. “A mad scientist through and through huh?” He asked, but he couldn’t keep all the amusement out of his voice.
“That’s why I’m here,” Danny confirmed, smiling crookedly under his helmet. Hood had the good sense to shut up during the rest of the quick trip back to Danny’s lab.
As soon as the door was closed and bolted Jason took off his helmet and frowned at Danny as he fluffed up his black and white hair. Following his lead Danny took off his helmet as well and gazed back at Jason levelly.
“So, who was it you brought with you this afternoon?” He asked, already sounding calmer and there was no green glow to his eyes so he couldn’t have been that mad. Huh, he must trust Danny more then he realized.
“One of my best friends, Tucker. I told both him and Sam… not everything, not about the bats or you, just about my history and what I was doing here so that they could cover for me when I disappear and I could send some of the stuff I order to their places. Less suspicious if I can spread it out a little you know?” He asked as he quickly pulled up a chair and found the sterile needles he’d ordered a while ago.
“You sure it’s safe? You know how risky it is, trusting people?” Jason said with a vague gesture, watching the needles warily.
“I’m sure. Sam said explicitly they would have supported me even if I was going full rogue and I one hundred percent believe her on that, we’ve been friends for years we have each others backs against the entire world. Roll up your sleeve please,” He added as an afterthought as he shooed Jason into the chair.
Jason sighed heavily and shrugged off his jacked, rolling up his sleeve so Danny could wrap a rubber band around his arm and start feeling around for a good vein. It felt like it would be pretty easy to draw blood, Jason had good accessible veins, as long as they weren’t too tough of course.
“Just be careful, okay? If you say they’re good then I believe you but... be careful. You have a lot more then your own secrets rattling around in that head of yours.”
“I’ll be careful,” Danny promised, refusing to acknowledge even to himself how he’d almost messed up and used Jason’s name that day. He wouldn’t do it again.
“Great. Now how much blood do you need?” Jason asked, moving on briskly.
“Three vials should be more then enough, I just need to test your reactions to a few things,” Danny said calmly. “Small pinch, you know the drill,” He said as he uncapped the needle and carefully slid it into Jason’s arm, he hit a vein nearly immediately and when he attached the first vacuum sealed vial the blood flowed easily. “You have good veins,” Danny said approvingly.
“Thanks, you little freak,” Jason chuckled, shaking his head at Danny. “So do you have any ideas or do you need to wait till after you’ve got my blood under a microscope?”
“I’d rather wait till I’ve got it under a microscope just to know what I’m looking at. If you want to hang out for a couple hours though that should be enough time for me to have some answers for you.” Danny detached the first vile and clicked the second one into place.
“Sure, if you’ve got time tonight?” Jason asked, tilting his head slightly.
“Yep, my tracker is still safe and sound in Tucker’s bedroom broadcasting life signals of sleep. I told him I’d be back about three am and its only midnight.”
“Sure then I can hang out for a bit,” Jason said, shrugging with only one shoulder so as not to jostle Danny.
He finished drawing the last vile of blood and took the rubber band off Jason’s arm, letting him roll his sleeve back down as Danny stowed one in cold storage brought the other two over to his work bench. He put one into a makeshift filter he had made treated with ectoplasm to see if it would filter out the Lazarus water effectively. While that worked, he took a dropper from the other container and put it on a slide, examining it through the magnifying lens.
He bit his lip at what he saw. Jason’s blood was more active then removed blood usually would have been, and there was a very slight glow to maybe thirty percent of the blood cells that made him huff in irritation. He pulled out the magnifier and switched it out for another one that he’d already treated with ectoplasm. He’d been doing that as much as he could lately, once he had enough, he was going to be treating everything with the stuff, mostly just to see what happened!
In this case what happened was the glow got more intense, and he was able to see the flecks of green dotting those cells and throughout Jason’s plasma. As he watched a few latched on to a cell Danny had noticed was starting to look warped and destabilized. Under Danny’s eye the cell repaired itself and started to glow as well. Danny hummed softly and pulled back, glancing over at the filter which wasn’t quite finished, but Danny could already see a small amount of stuff had been filtered out. It didn’t look like pure Lazarus water but judging by the swampy colour and slight green glow it was just that some of it was too bonded to Jason’s blood and took cells with them. It was working on leaving what looked like pure blood getting through the filter, Danny wouldn’t know for sure until he got it under the microscope.
When he looked at the slide again he could see that more of the blood was glowing, the blood was breaking down leaving just the Lazarus water. He clicked his tongue even though it made sense, Lazarus water didn’t seem to breakdown. Wait if it didn’t break down why did he constantly need to consume it? Why didn’t it stay in his system like Jasons?
Danny removed the first slide, pricked his finger and smeared some of his blood on a fresh slide to have a look at it under his treated lens. He had tested on his own blood a bunch of times obviously but he hadn’t gotten the chance to look at it through this new lens yet and it should give him a better idea of how the substance worked in his blood.
He winced when he looked at it. All of his cells glowed, and not just flecks bonded to the blood like in Jason’s body. It looked like all of his blood was fully infused with the stuff, so he must be passing it with spent blood, he probably needed it for new cell creation. He bit back a groan. Well, he’d already known there was no way to remove it from himself, and he didn’t actually want to, he needed more of it if anything! He’d just have to be more careful than he already was with his DNA, he should make sure his suit had some sort of instant sealing mechanism so if he did get injured it wouldn’t spill any of the blood.
“You’re making a lot of noises over there buddy, everything okay?” Jason asked from where he’d settled to clean and do basic maintenance on his guns while Danny worked.
“Oh, ya! Sorry to worry you everything’s fine, my blood is more saturated than I realized. Yours is… close to what I expected, maybe a little more integrated.” He said quickly, not wanting Jason to think there was anything wrong with his.
“Fuck do you mean ‘integrated’?” Jason demanded.
Huh, not worrying him clearly didn’t work. Danny shrugged helplessly and went back to what he was doing. He switched out the slides again, going back to Jason’s and seeing that the blood cells had pretty much broken down leaving only Lazarus Water, he’d have to be careful disposing of these. He set it aside and went to get samples from the filtered blood and the substance it filtered out.
The results were… interesting. The Lazarus water had been filtered out decently affectively but the amount of blood it had taken with it was worrying. Jason would need a transfusion of clean blood if they did this, or clean-ish because when Danny switched to the filtered blood he saw the cells were breaking down far quicker than they should. He’d halfway expected that.
He sat up and stretched and checked his watch, a bit less then an hour wasn’t bad for these results and he’s double check later, he needed to get back soon.
“Okay, I have some results, and some supplementary theories,” He reported, dragging his chair over to sit across from Jason.
“And they are…?” He prompted impatiently.
“Well, my filter worked in removing the Lazarus water from your blood. If we want to remove it entirely I think the best way to do it would essentially be a modified form of dialysis, take the blood out, run it through a filter and put it back in-“
“How long will that take?” Jason interrupted to ask making Danny sigh.
“A while. I have to build the machine, then it will probably take a few sessions to do it thoroughly. More then that there are complications. The Lazarus water is bonded to your cells in a way that I didn’t expect. It will take a good amount of your blood with it. To add further complications, it seems like your system has started to rely on it, we can’t just remove it.”
“So, I’m stuck with it?” Jason questioned, clearly crestfallen
“I didn’t say that! I was going to say we’ll have to replace it with something. I’m a universal doner like Dad and Dick, and at this point I have clean ectoplasm in my blood. I haven’t noticed any ill effects from it. Give me some time to get my hands on some clean blood and we can use half that, and half my blood to replace the blood you lose in the dialysis and I think that should work since Ectoplasm is more potent than Lazarus water.” Danny explained as patiently as he could.
“And what sort of affects would I see from this?” Jason asked, calm and clinical now.
“I don’t know. It’s not like this is a common procedure, this is experimental at best! I theorize that because ectoplasm is an emotionally balanced substance unlike Lazarus water you’ll still be more emotionally driven then you were before you died but not ruled by anger and fear the way you are now. You might notice some other changes, I have some meta-abilities despite lacking a meta gene and I suspect the ectoplasm is responsible for that. We’ll have to keep doing regular check ups and I’ll want details on any changes you experience in the spirit of scientific inquiry.”
Jason snorted and sat back in his chair, crossing his arms and tilting his head back to stare at the ceiling considering the option. “How likely do you think it is that with a bit more time you’ll have a better option to offer me?” He questioned without looking at Danny.
“Unlikely. I could entirely remove it and you could visit a medical doctor and hope they have answers for you on how to fix the damage that does to your cell integrity and over all health, medical science isn’t my area of expertise, but I don’t know how much luck you’d have with that.” Danny didn’t mention that the other reason he probably wouldn’t have another answer for Jason was that the dreams were getting more desperate and he needed to move on in his research to try and figure out what they wanted. He couldn’t devote much more attention to this issue, even if he did care about his wayward brother.
“Fine,” Jason sighed, leaning forward again and shrugging. “Set it up and keep me posted, once you have everything I’ll carve out a few hours here and there for our… appointments.”
“Great. I’ll handle all the medical equipment, you might have better luck acquiring the clean blood though, I know you have connections that I don’t. I might be able to steal it from the Batcave but I think even B would notice that and it would be hard to explain.”
“Sure,” Jason snorted and stood up reaching over to ruffle Danny’s hair. “You do the sciency shit, I’ll get the blood, seems fair. I’m not gonna thank you yet because neither of us really know how this is gonna go, but if it works, I’ll owe you one.”
“Stop breaking the guns I build you and we’ll call it even,” Danny teased, swatting Jason’s hand aside and making him laugh.
“I’ll do my best. You should get going now, you’re a growing boy! Get some sleep or you’ll end up as short as Replacement,” Jason teased back and Danny scoffed.
“I think his caffeine intake is more to blame, I’ve seen him brew coffee with energy drinks instead of water,” Danny said rolling his eyes. “But he didn’t really replace you, you know? Or he didn’t want to. He asked Dick to come back first because he could see how unstable B was without you there. When Dick refused, I think he felt responsible. Robin was his favourite hero, he idolized both you and Dick. Still does.”
“Huh,” Jason sounded thoughtfully.
“Good talk, now get out of my lab! If you want me to go you have to let me lock up first!” Danny accused, making a shooing motion with his hands.
“Jeez fine! I’m going!” Jason said, holding up his hands in a pacifying motion before returning all his weapons to their respective holsters and tucking his helmet under his arm. Leaving Danny to clean up and lock up before heading out, getting back to Tucker’s house a bit after 2 am and sliding back in through the window, nudging Tucker gently so he’d know Danny was back safe before passing out quickly. If there was one thing being a Wayne taught you it was to sleep when and where you could. That night he even got almost eight hours since Tuck’s parents let them sleep in! What a treat!

I'm so sick of defending shit I don't even like. I hate porn. I think gender and sexuality are boring. I've never taken an illegal drug and have no interest in doing so. But people won't back the fuck off and let people live their lives so here we still are, still on the front lines with this shit. "You guys make everything about" I'D REALLY LOVE NOT TO, MATE, BUT WE'RE NOT THE ONES CREATING PROBLEMS HERE. Stop trying to control people's lives and we'll all get a chance to shut up about it, but unfortunately the Moral Police are out here endangering lives and livelihoods so here we still are. Forever.
