It is the nature of playing Bethesda games to endlessly complain about their shortcomings while putting in five hundred hours of game time

transness in the fallout universe is cool and i see ppl discussing how auto docs and shit would make it a possibility even if limited but i think one thing tht i haven’t seen discussed is that in a post-apocalyptic world in which like. depending on the group of survivors / cultures that sprout up, western male female gender/sex might be entirely annihilated, or even in societies that parrot old american pre-warr values, drastically transformed! what happens to gender when the material bases that support and reproduce it are erased?  what would transitioning mean if like. everyone’s groty and we don’t have things like uhhhh mass media to produce a cohesive idea of this or that gender.
