(via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MpELdFP73E)  It wasn't until I did my spoof video that it occurred to me that there were people who probably were hedging their bet, they believe, but not really.  This is made clear by the lack of adherence to biblical text.

We like to laugh at Christians who use the No True Scotsman phanlacy on each other, but we atheist do it as well when someone turns to religion after identifying as an atheist.

There is a distinction made, mostly by theist, between Micro and Macro evolution as if these were two different things.  Is it because of Noah’s story or the young earth belief that makes this distinction seem reasonable, or is it just the lack of understanding what evolution is?

To not believe in hell is to believe that people would actually make up a horrible place just to get you to believe in the wonderful place they hope to go to when they die is real.

I think there is something irrational about being an atheist, is it rational to have the same conversation over and over and over to an audience that believes a man was born of a virgin, could turn water into wine and came back from the dead and think I can actually reason with them?

Is there a way to prove god is not real?  Does there need to be?

(via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0APTL1wI8g8)  'No Old White Guys' is a show about atheism and the people who are working towards normalizing it and making a positive impact.  This the fourth episode, my guest is my is Ayala Leyser, a psychotherapist and artist, who from a moderate Jewish upbringing has spent decades trying to help people free themselves from religion.

Modesty is  far overreaching and usually religiously based.  Cloths are for the most part protection and warmth, modesty is about dictating what other people are allowed to see.  If someone is comfortable in what they wear, or how little they wear then that's their business.  If they are ridiculed for it that can be unjustified but expected.  But to be fined or arrested for it?  Modesty is bullshit when enforced on others.  Most people wear provocative clothes for the express reason that it pushes the boundaries of modesty.  No society can be free when told what they must wear at all times and that is exactly what Islam has in mind.

I could be wrong but every time I tell a Christian I don't think their god is real they twist everything to make it sound like I actually do.  It seems all they want is for me to accept their god might be real.

This is about bullying but it's also the kind of story most people who are transgender relate to.  Most know very young and the feeling is stronger in some than it is in others in the same way most straight kids, more notably in girls, range from very girly (like my daughter) to more tomboy.  If a young boy identified as a girl but more of a tomboy, imagine how hard that would be to express or really even to understand what it was about them that was different.  Imagine a young girl who identifies as a boy with a life spent being told "Oh, you're just a tomboy, you're not actually a boy".Maybe it is just a form of body dysmorphic disorder but that is more about appearance not orientation.  It's very difficult for anyone to relate to something so different from their own experience but so easy for most to say what they think is right or wrong.It is hard enough to know who we are when we don't quite fit into the "norm" without the addition of being told that what is different is just in our heads.The first person I met that was transgender was over 30 years ago, I knew nothing about it, didn't really understand it and still felt no reason to not accept that what I was being told was not exactly what they were telling me.  A girl who felt she was a boy but still attracted to men?  Yes, it sounded a little crazy when I was 18 but I accepted it as true because really, I had no reason not to, especially after hearing the hardships endured because of all of the people who wouldn't accept it.

God usually gets the credit when good things happen but rarely the blame for anything bad.  So, if there was a god, why does it let bad things happen?
