Week 8 Final Post
After watching this weeks video on implementation I have learned do’s and don'ts of what to implement in my own social media as well as what to offer to businesses I may work with. Some challenges that may come with this come down to three main things similar views, boundaries, and results.
Similar views comes first because it is important to make sure you and your client have similar ideas on what you will be posting. When this is established you can then work to customize and create a page in that image that both you and the owner will be happy with. This can be a challenge however because if your client has different views you will have to work harder and not in your comfort zone to make them happy. This can be a challenge but can be avoided through communication.
Boundaries are next because it is important to establish them early so there are no overstepping them and upsetting the customer. This can be a challenge however because if these are tight boundaries it will be hard for you to operate efficiently inside of them. Overall effective boundaries can help you avoid this problem early and efficiently.
The final challenge you may face when implementing a businesses social media are the results you receive. If you are happy with your results but your customer is not this will instantly be a problem. You have to work hand and hand with your customer to see what results they are looking for and then work to get them. If you get the results your customer is looking for there will be no challenge in the first place.
Overall these are three main challenges you may run into when implementing social media for a business. I think if you are aware of these you can avoid them and with that have a successful business social media. It is important to remember these are common challenges however and they will happen with some customers and it is our job as a social media consultant to make sure that they are addressed and solved.
