—ᯓ★ Being the little sister of the current F1 World Champion means automatically that you are in the spotlight — but it also means that you are under the careful watch of a very specific driver who’s very protective over you, and it’s not your older brother.

You were landos little sister and everybody knew he was like… really protective over you.
But the wasn't the only man in your life who was pretty protective over you.
For some reason, for as long as you can remember, Oscar was always there, always near you — and your big brother knew but he didn’t mind, especially since Oscar never got too close to his little sister
Oscar was the type of guy to be more in the background, watching everything like a hawk, always on high alert, especially when it came to you.
You sighed as you walked into the paddock, clutching tightly onto the expensive coach bag Lando got you for Christmas last year, your eyes trained on the concrete.
“Y/n? Everything okay?“ Lando quickened his steps to walk next to you, taking his sunglasses off as he looked at you.
You glanced at your older brother, nodding quickly, “yeah, I’m fine… it’s just,“ you gulped,
“Since when are there so many paparazzis here?” you took a look at the insane amount of photographers and journalists walking through the paddock, asking every driver that passed by them at least twenty questions, some of them being outrageously private and weird.
Lando glanced at them as well before he released a long sigh, “yeah I know,“ he gulped as well, “I’m assuming that we have some major celebrities in the paddock again, like Adele and Usain Bolt I think,“ he mumbled.
You nodded along, “oh, I understand,“ you just replied.
You two continued walking towards the McLaren garage, right when you had your eyes trained on one of the unbelievably rude photographers, another driver joined you two.
“Oscar, hey mate!“ lando said excitedly before he briefly hugged his teammate.
The Australien driver returned the hug with a tight lipped smile, his eyes going immediately to you while he hugged your brother before he pulled away and turned his body towards you, “Hello to you too, y/n,“ he mumbled.
You smiled back and quickly hugged him before you kept on walking towards the garage, your eyes going from your high heels to the nasty photographers and journalists again.
“Excited for the race?“ your older brother asked Oscar who simply nodded.
“Lando, hey! Can I talk to you real quick? Just a few minutes!“ his PR agent came up to the three of you, looking a bit hectic and impatient.
Lando looked at her for a few seconds but then quickly nodded, “yeah, sure,“ he turned around again to look at you,
“You just walk with Oscar to the garage, yeah? I’ll be there in a bit,“ he squeezed your upper arm before he already followed his PR agent into the other direction of where the McLaren garage was located.
You gulped and kept looking at Lando before Oscar interrupted your messy thoughts, “C’mon,” he mumbled under his breath, walking a tad ahead of you.
You followed him unsurely with an uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach, usually you always felt happy and excited to walk into the McLaren garage and watch him try his best to score as many points as possible for him and his team, but right now the walk towards the garage made you literally sweat bullets due to the annoying paparazzis which were only a few feet away from you now.
As soon as they realised that Oscar wouldn't say much, as always, they turned their attention towards you.
“Are you proud of your brother?“
“How does your brother feel about you sleeping with drivers?“
“Are you and Oscar in a relationship?“
“Is there something going on between you two behind closed doors? What does your brother say to that?“
You felt as if you were suffocating, the questions simply not stopping while you tried to shield your eyes from the bright flashes, clutching onto your purse as you noticed how Oscar suddenly stopped walking in front of you.
He turned around as even more cameras went off, capturing every little action between the two of you.
“Okay thats it, you're done,“ he said to the journalists and photographers who were clearly crossing a line here.
The Australien McLaren driver quickly grabbed you gently by your arm before he pulled you closer to him, then his big hand went to your lower back, guiding you in front of him.
Suddenly one photographer reached out and roughly grabbed your wrist, yanking you towards him, “one more proper picture, c’mon-”
But Oscar immediately stepped in, pushing you behind him and putting himself between the rude photographer and you,
“I said you're done, got it?“ he raised his brows at the nasty man but didn’t even wait for a reply before he already put his hand on your lower back again and continued guiding you towards the McLaren garage.
Oscar cleared his throat, his eyes staying on the McLaren garage ahead the two of you, not sparing the loud photographers and journalists a single glance,
“Are you okay?“ he asked quietly, only that you could hear it.
You gulped nervously, still holding tightly onto your black handbag as the skin where his fingertips touched your lower back already burned a bit… but you had no right to complain right now,
“I’m fine yeah,“ you mumbled back, your eyes staying on your feet, “thank you so much, Oscar.”
But he didn’t reply anymore, he put his large palm a tad firmer on your lower back, his steps quickening, forcing you to quicken yours as well.
From time to time he even turned his body a bit to shield a better from the flashes of the cameras, loving to hear how the paparazzis started to complain about it.
As soon as you two reached the McLaren garage, you immediately started looking for your brother.
“Over there, next to zac,“ Oscar placed his hand on your shoulder and turned you gently towards your brother, pointing discreetly at his teammate.
You released a long sigh of relief as you went over to Lando, quickly hugging him.
“Woah, everything okay?“ he hugged you back as his eyes went to Oscar who was slowly approaching the two of you with a rather stern expression on his face.
Lando knew his teammate wasn’t the type of guy to smile all the time but he also sensed that something happened based on Oscar’s facial expression.
“The photographers and journalists outside seriously harassed her, wouldn’t stop asking ridiculous questions and one even tried to grab her,“ Oscar said calmly to your older brother who you still hugged rather tightly.
Lando had his brows slightly furrowed as he looked at Oscar before he looked down at you.
Your brother gulped, “and you helped her?“ he asked quietly.
Oscar huffed, even a smiling a tiny bit but it did not look like a happy smile, “Of course I did, Lando“ Oscar put his eyes on you, “I tried to shield her from the flashes so they also wouldn't get too many pictures of her but there were just so many… I’m sorry,“ he added quickly.
Lando immediately shook his head as you stepped away from him, “no please don't apologise, Oscar,“ lando said, “thank you, seriously.“
Oscar just nodded and gave him a tight lipped smile before he put his eyes on you.
You looked right at him and it almost felt as if the two of you are the only people in this garage right now.
“Y/n? Hello?“ lando put himself between you two, making you snap out of your little day dream.
“Yes?“ you raised your brows, noticing how Oscar bit his bottom lip and looked away before chewing on his inner cheek, almost as if he was trying to hide a grin.
Lando cleared his throat, “you can go to my changing room in the back while I talk to the engineers, okay?“ he squeezed your upper arms.
You switched your gaze from Oscar to your brother and nodded slowly, “Uhm yeah, sure… I’ll do that,“ you mumbled before you swiftly walked past Oscar to get to lando's changing room.
The moment you reached your brothers changing room, you got your phone out of your purse and texted Oscar,
'Thank you so much for helping me earlier, don't know how bad that would have ended if you wouldn’t have been there.'
You sat down on lando‘s couch and released a long sigh as you looked around the room, still trying to calm yourself down.
Then you got a text message — from Oscar.
'No need to thank me. Your brother would have killed me if I didn’t.'
You gulped as you read the message but then a second one followed right away.
'I would have done it anyway tho and just so you know I’d do it again.'
You stared at the message longer than you probably should have, literally stopped breathing and held onto your phone for dear life.
This wasn't over and you both knew it.
