Uh

today i chose to walk across a snowy field instead of following the salted pavement. the snow was crunchy to step on and the cold air was seeping into my face and taking home in my forehead, or so it felt. as i was walking there, looking up at the sky, it almost felt like a different sky than the one i look up at in summer. thinking about how pink and purple it gets every summer when the sun sets close to midnight and how the air smells like burned out barbecues and lilac bushes feels like thinking back on a memory that’s so distant you’re not even sure if it really happened or if it was just a dream. today, summer genuinely felt like something i once dreamt up and that felt so real in my dream. but my frozen cheeks and condensed breath were laughing at me for believing in it
