THE MOON IS FULL › WADE & TOBY
Wade listened to her speak, a faint smile spread across his lips. “Mexican.” The man repeated, nodding his head lightly. “I like the sound of that.” Keeping one hand firmly on the steering wheel, he let his free hand open the glovebox, revealing a messy CD collection. The thought of once again sitting in silence, even if he’d make attempts at small talk, bothered him. “Pick one.” He instructed lightly, placing his hand on the steering wheel once again. The radio was useless, he’d learned that from an early age. All Blackwick got was the news and static, endless amount of static. People might add that to the eeriness of the town, but Wade just saw it as another downside of living in a small town.
Toby raised an eyebrow as she sifted through the messy pile of CDs. "A lot of rock, can't say I'm surprised" Biting her lip, she turned over an old rolling stones case. She was probably over thinking something as simple as a a music choice, but with radio out of the way she had to pick something to drown out the awkward silences. Toby was usually more talkative, once she started it was pretty hard to stop her. But in this instance that was the problem. Theres was nothing to say about the last few days that wouldn't somehow lead to some awkward family history and a depressing confessional- complete with tears. Quickly realising she increased the awkward silence with more thought, Toby popped the CD into the player and leaned back in her seat, pushing out an awkward smile.
