Beebs and Lar transform for efficiency. Beebs has more than two hands, and Lariat can fly, so they use that to their advantage when they need to work on something. They think it's cool, they both have their complicated feelings towards their Teotl but they have learned about themselves with them and they decide they would rather be who they are now.

Shrike stays in his Teotl form the most and it's. Weird. He's stronger and he can fly with his hummingbird wings so it's understandable that he would, but he also acts like he's a different person. Like Huitzi is a different person. He doesn't go back to his normal body because he would rather be anyone else other than Shrike, because he doesn't like himself.

And then Triangle is the opposite but also the same problem (I need to make a post about the OCT version of him and Lar but I'm waiting for them to be in the show first). He realizes his destructiveness comes from Tezcatlipoca and he hates that about himself so he never transforms. He doesn't want to be anything like Tez. He wants to be Triangle. ...Whoever that is.
