last movie: For last thing I recently watched of any kind of film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan. I rewatched it recently with my family. Last English language film was The Hunt for Red October yesterday lol.

sweet or salty: Salty. I dislike sweet stuff most of the stuff.

Coffee or tea: Depends. I’m south Asian so of course have the obligate tea addiction but I also quite enjoy coffee. My favourite coffee that i get a as a treat sometimes is a French vanilla from Tim Hortons.

Working on: A lot of stuff! Art, my site, my music, and a book that’s gotten to 155k words and is lagging tf out of my Google docs lately lol.

hey, just a quick note about the “drink a ton of water before/after purging” thing:

i know it gets thrown around as harm reduction, but biologically it doesn’t really work that way. water doesn’t neutralize stomach acid enough to protect your throat or teeth. that stuff’s pH is around 1–2, so it still burns and erodes enamel even when diluted. all that does is expand your stomach super fast, which puts pressure on the gastric walls and esophagus. that can cause pain, tears, and even make acid reflux worse because you’re pushing acidic stuff up harder.

chugging huge amounts of water (especially quickly) can actually make things worse. after purging, your electrolytes, things like sodium, potassium, and chloride, are already off balance. if you flood your system with plain water too fast, it dilutes your blood sodium levels, and that can cause headaches, confusion, nausea, dizziness, even heart issues in bad cases. it’s called hyponatremia, and it’s something doctors actually see in both ED patients and endurance athletes who drink too much water at once.

so from a harm reduction point of view, it’s a lot safer to sip small amounts of fluids slowly, ideally something with electrolytes, rather than trying to “flush out” your body. rinsing your mouth, resting, and getting something gentle (like soup or broth) after can do a lot more to help your body stabilize.

just to be clear, i’m not saying this from a “better than” place, i totally get why someone might feel stuck in that cycle. sending love to anyone dealing with that, none of this is about shame and/or meant to sound mean, just info ♥️ /gen
