🎏- I can totally see where you're coming from, anon. Kibō had potential as a character but I think it was another shortcoming of TM's lack of in-game lore and reliance on the discord servers to distribute information. We barely have anything on Kibō to make him a fledged out character, but we barely have anything on the main antagonist of the book as well. The motivations and personalities of most book 2 characters is unfortunately really unclear as of now in general.

🍵- i think the difference in the books is that the player can easily feel more of that “control” aspect in b1, which helps make kintoru feel like that big bad threat that has power over us. also she actively keeps interacting with us in the book by hunting us or talking to us while we do stuff. but in b2, there isnt much to connect jealousy to enzukai themself, or a lot of interaction with isamu so he doesnt really feel like a proper antagonist…

🍵- anon you wrote a lottttttt but it was so fun to read! i also think enzukai having a lot of redesigns in the book itself was the devs attempt to compensate for his little time on screen. but kintoru looks the same through the entire book which helps in making her iconic to the player. idk how the devs will start the story of b3 but we can only hope they wont make the same mistakes with b2… 😵‍💫

🎏- Isamu had a lot of potential but unfortunately it goes nowhere beyond surface level comments. A fair portion of the community doesn't even register that Isamu was also abused within the Uchiumi household and I think that says a lot about the way they handled his character

🍵- newer design actually makes isamu look like an adult… im not sure why they originally allowed to have the lantern have isamus teenager head model…

🍵- lowkey anon i also worry for mimics production… taking a step back to go back more to “b1 vibes” may be a good thing since it would be easier to handle, but that doesn’t erase the mess that came from b2… 🤔

🍵- lowkey jealousy's book had us jumping around so many places. the island, the sea, then hell, then the city. control's book felt more consistent, though idk how to describe it well 🤔
