Story & Clark cabinet grand, built in Chicago, 1928. I guess this is the closest I'll get to an obit for a piano. It was acquired by my grandparents in the late 1950s in Indianapolis when it was already 30 years old. Another 30 years after that it was passed on to my parents, where in 1992 I started casually playing. In 1995 I started piano lessons and practiced on this piano, in 1999 I auditioned for college and began undergrad. So it stayed at my folks house after I left. In the subsequent 20 years or so it's fallen into disrepair and takes up a great deal of space and weighs what must be 800 lbs. So off it goes to get scrapped, an old worn out piano like many others you'll find out there with similar biographies.
