WHAT DO YOU WANT? WHEN DO YOU WANT IT?

Do you have a cause for celebration? Or a reason to publicly protest? Is there something you want shouted in the streets? Written on banners? Tiny Parades is a public performance by Snapcat (Renae Coles & Anna Dunnill) which will see two lone paraders take to the streets, passionately championing your personal, small-scale cause. A new puppy, a mean boss, an alliance of food allergies - human-sized struggles and joys. Parade theme submissions from the public were accepted up until Monday 18 May - thanks for your brilliant ideas!

_ Tiny Parades has been commissioned by The Perth Public Art Foundation as part of perthFLUX, a progression of temporary public art projects in the Barrack Street Precinct of the Perth CBD.

A public spectacle, a noisy protest, a mournful march, a joyous celebration – let us bring your parade to life

ABOUT SNAPCAT

Snapcat is a collaboration between Renae Coles and Anna Dunnill. Since 2010, Coles and Dunnill have worked together as artists, curators and ARI co-directors. Their collaborative work uses materials and processes common to both of their practices: sculpture, drawing, writing and performance.

Snapcat recently completed a nine-month residency at the Fremantle Art Centre researching traditional handicrafts and survival skills. They are currently artists-in-residence CIA Studios where they are developing a new body of work centred on the intersections of bravery and feminism. She also writes critical articles, catalogue essays and short fiction. Her work has been published in several print journals, anthologies and online. annadunnill.com Renae Coles’s artistic practice moves between sculpture, performance and painting. Her current interests lie with social architecture, including playgrounds and urban design. Renae has also managed marketing and communications for some of Perth’s major arts organisations.
