Today and for the first time in my life I drove a bicycle. My friend tries to help me learn but it was very hard for me as I have never tried driving it before, I was a little afraid and I did not know how to keep my balance.

But he also kept pressuring me and yelling at me so I ended up getting made at him and I fell down as I kit a parked car... but It was very funny.

I will definitely keep on trying until I succeed, I feeling that I am missing so much fun and a lot of outdoor activities just because I don’t know how to ride a bic!

We rarely live in the present or enjoy the moment. We mostly live in the immediate past, and the upcoming future. We think a lot about what happened in the past, what could have been, what we did, what we didn’t do, we anticipate too much, we over think about the future and what’s going to happen next. However we forget about Now, we don’t think about this right moment.

I don’t want to do that anymore, I am tired of not knowing and being anxious all the time about what might have happened if I did this or that. I am tired of worrying about what’s right to do for the future. I want to find passion in the moment. I want to learn to find moments during the day where I feel the present.

I always thought of this but my new instructor at university Rita, who’s such a passionate and wonderful person, got me thinking more about it. She said anxiety now a day is malady, she said she loves to teach because when she is in the class room she forgets all about everything and is just herself.

Sports, reading, cooking and other little stuff help live in the moment but I want to get rid of my anxiety without of course picking up new bad routines. It’s better to find new passions.  

One of the most amazing and interesting things about Lebanon and most particularly Beirut is that you can have absolutely anything delivered at your door 24/7. You can have delivered a small bar of chocolate to your house at 3 am. Beirut in general is all about food, where ever you go you will find food, all kind of juices and fruit cocktails sold (for a reasonable price); you can have breakfast at 10 am if you want. Lebanese people love to eat and enjoy the family or friends gathering around food. Their gastronomy is rich in ingredients, so you won’t leave the table feeling light; this is why you will also find restaurants that have typical but dietetic Lebanese fiestas. Food in Lebanon is a true cultural experience.

It is astonishing that after a Century exactly since the publication of Pride and Prejudice (1830), by Jane Austen, this idea still exists.
