It was a windy Monday. The sun shone happily as the breeze kissed everything in sight. Stepping out into the sun, you smiled. It was a good day for ice cream. Walking down to the ice cream parlor, you took in all the people on the street bustling around. It was peaceful in a way. Suddenly a black blur bounded into you, making you stumble. Although scared at first, you quickly realized it was a sleek black dog. Laughing to yourself you rub him, wondering where the owner must be. About a minute later, he appears, running down the sidewalk and waving his arms about. "I'm so sorry," he yells. Taking him in, you notice he's very handsome. Lithe muscle under a white tee, curly hair held by a hat, plump lips and a pair of frames only accentuate his beauty. Slowing in front of you, he takes the dog and apologizes frantically. "It's ok," you tell him, "I'm just glad he stopped so you don't have to keep running." The owner laughs, taking the dog's leash and holding out his hand. "I'm Joel," he says. "Y/N," you reply. He leans down to pet the dog, admonishing it for getting loose. You nod your head, saying you have to get going, and start to walk off. "Wait a minute!" You turn to look at Joel. He's still petting his dog but looking at you rather intently. "We were on our way to get ice cream. Would you like to join us?" You consider it. "I was on my way to get some myself, so sure," you reply. He smiles and it makes your stomach flip a little. "His name is Rufus, by the way," he says, motioning to his compatriot. You lean down, looking the painting dog in the face. "Nice to meet you, Rufus." Joel laughs and it makes you laugh. The two of you and Rufus continue down the street to get some sweet treats. The day has definitely made a turn for the better.
