Freelance artist and fabricator Jennifer L. Johnson created these mouthwatering, but completely inedible yarn food sculptures. They were made for a Lion Brand Yarn trade show. It may be comfort food that canât be eaten, but it can still offer comfort as a delight for the eyes and a soft place to rest your head.
Visit Johnsonâs website to check out more of her creations.

Check out this fun stitching project from Shiny Happy World! Looks like fun! Could be a great project for kids too, if they are old enough to handle real needles. Imagine all of the different color options!

Yo-yo Botanica, Faye Anderson 2014

Wow check out this yarn instillation!Â
Yo-yos are featured in two quilts currently on display in the Denver Art Museum's textile galleries! In the Thread Studio's exhibit Contemporary Takes on Traditional Patterns, the small art quilt Yo-yo Botanica by Faye Anderson uses yo-yo's in an artful way to create a landscape-like image. The second example of yo-yo's is obvious in the main exhibit's (First Glance ~ Second Look) Yo-Yo Quilt. The entire quilt is made up of just yo-yos!
Enjoy the details of both quilts in the image above!

Have you guys seen the Yo-Yo Quilt in the new First Glance ~ Second Look: Quilts from the Denver Art Museum Collection? What exactly is a yo-yo? A small circle of fabric is all you need to create these little gathered puffs, learn how to make them in the video above!Â
How cool is this curtain by Pae White for the Oslo Opera House? The pattern is woven! Looks like a digital print doesn't it? Check out the accompanying article here
Log Cabin Redux (by the Pixeladies)Â juxtaposed with a detail from Barn Raising Quilt: Log Cabin Variation (United States, 1890's)Â
This quilt by the Pixeladies (Deb Cashatt and Kris Sazaki) reinterprets the classic quilting log cabin pattern by continuing their series of text quilts with Log Cabin Redux. The text around the quilt contains headlines, magazine titles, snips from articles and quotes from home owners. The Pixeladies  artist statement suggests Log Cabin Redux is a reaction to the housing market's recent troubles and the foreclosure trends of the last few years, a poignant play on the classic quilting theme of home.
Make sure to check out both quilts in person by visiting First Glance ~ Second Look: Quilts from the Denver Art Museum Collection open June 1,2014 - March 22, 2015Â
