Puppies in a box
heromanvasco:
As the employee went to get food, another two came over to help retrieve all the puppies to look them all over. It wasn’t like any of them were professionals in the sense that they went to veterinary school (since they’d be way over-qualified for this job), but there were many around who knew a thing or two about animals.
Sometimes even pet stores took in animals to give them the chance to get adopted. It wasn’t rare for them to find abandoned puppies to take in and set up for adoption. One of the employees had taken care of lot of puppies because of their dogs and had a good idea on what to do with the puppies.
“Looks like they should be able to handle solid food. Just wait here for us to get them some food.”
That’s what they were told before both Vasco and Kuro were led inside and asked to stand nearby the employee rest area. Someone came around with water and the puppies scrambled around the water bowl.
“I don’t think they were left out there for too long.”
After all, the box they were in wasn’t too messy and they didn’t look very weak, so they probably were left in the park for not too long. That, was a relief.
Kuro was happy to hear that they weren't left out for long. If they had been, well... That would have really upset him. He smiled at the puppies as he watched them all fight for the water, and he shook his head. "There's enough there for all of you..." He murmured quietly, knowing that they wouldn't understand. Oh well, they were adorable either way.
Still, Kuro couldn't help but wonder who in their right minds thought it was a great idea to just put the puppies in a box and leave them there... How irresponsible. He spotted the puppy that he had fallen in love with earlier and gently scratched it's head with a finger, watching it lap up some water.
"... How cute..." He still wasn't over it, and no matter if the dog grew to be tiny or huge, he would be treating it like a puppy forever. "Ah, you make sure to drink your fill, alright? We can get you as much water as you need..."
