it's so lonely in my mansion

I take my wallet out of my pocket and unfold it. It is empty other than a single moth that lazily flies out. The moth lands on the tap point of the card reader. There's a beat, and my payment is processed. The moth flies back into my wallet and I put it back in my pocket.

Japanese curry - the one from the little golden blocks - isn't something I've actually ever bought or made before, but that flavour... that sort of ultra simplified form of "curry" - a flavour which comes from many levels of cultural exchange, colonialism, trade & the flattening effect of time on all of them- actually feels rather nostalgic to me. It reminds me of going to the shops and getting my first ever silly little packets of noodles for lunch.
