it's so unbelievably weird when people complain about the look on artists faces, not seeming "interested" as if they don't have anywhere up to 90 minutes of music to memorise and play without a single mistake? maybe it's too hot or too cold outside maybe they don't get much sleep maybe that's just their thinking or their regular face. holding artists to allistic performative standards when they're already playing music for you is fucking insane imo. it's insane to comment on the way someone looks if you don't know them well as it is really. like yeah if someone i knew really well saw me make a face while doing something and said "you look tired, what's up?" i'd be fine with that but the fact people say it about absolute strangers is WEIIIIRRRDDDD

i saw a cool video of bloc party and the comments are AAAALLLLLLLL just talking about how disinterested and bored they look, making annoying jokes and assuming really weird stuff it just unnerves me to see people so boldly proclaim what someone else must feel. they're playing completely normally with normal expressions and energy especially for a festival set which is super tiring to play but even if they WERE bored why do people have to put on a face, a front, an entire act to satiate you? it's very creepy to me as an autistic person, especially since that attitude is a decent part of the reason i don't really involve myself in my hobbies and art anymore because it requires me being seen and commented on in the same way, a certain level of energy is required that i don't think should be normal to expect. that's just me though i guess
