“Oh come on, it’s only one episode. At least come to the audition? Aw, so sweet.”

“Alright, fine I’ll take a look at the script. And hey, it’s not like there’s a long list of people around here who actually like me.”

“Maybe, maybe not. Okay, there actually is an audition, but if you got the part it would be better.”

“hmmm I don’t know how I feel about being on tv. But I’ll definitely be willing to spend time with you.” 

“In Hollywood Pointe?  Really?”

“Yup, apparently I’m the one not having fun around here.”

“Ah, okay. Probably wasn’t that important anyway.”

“True, if it comes back to me I’ll let you know.”

The heavy wooden front door slammed shut, “shit” was all Thomas could say as he stood silent in his room. It was all an illusion of safety, once his dad was home he was always in danger. Thomas did whatever he could to be out of the house, but there was a limited many parties and couches to crash on. Thomas as officially out of luck. 

The yelling started and her knew it would be a long night. It was times like these where he hated how much he was like his father. How much the resembled each other and how thomas could get so angry so fast. 

CRASH some glass had broken. He heard some tears, his mother’s. There were some muffled words and apologizes. Followed by talking and more talking, Thomas was tempted to go downstairs to check but he wasn’t so sure that he wanted answers. After sometime the yelling had started up again, he snuck out the window in a hoodie and some vans into the Ohio winter, to find someplace else to be. 

When he eventually came back, sometime around 2:00 am, only his mother was awake. “I have something to tell you,” she said. “Your father and I are going to see if we can work things out, but for now you’re moving to California to live with your cousins.” It took me a few seconds to process it all. “We shouldn’t be forced to live this way anymore and I’m going to make sure you get a fresh start out west. Pack your things, you’re leaving first thing tomorrow.”

Felicity scoffed. “Everyone thinks you’re a moron. Not just us.”

“Whatever,” he rolled his eyes.

“Hey, mine only comes out when people are asses. You wear yours on your fucking sleeve.”

“Funny, coming from a guy that doesn’t wear sleeves.”

“I see your vocabulary is as varied as always.”

“Better than using SAT words in every second I get.”
