Sometimes you just end up thinking about your friends in weird ass ways.

I’m not one for a signal boost but this is important. There has been a lot of catfishing in the community lately (my friends and I are the witnesses of it) and we won’t keep quiet about it. This is more than just a warning or a moral lesson, it’s a reminder that this is the internet – anyone can be lying about who they are, what they do, where they live. But lately it’s becoming more and more frequent among roleplayers and Tumblr users to come across someone who’s catfishing, so beware of anyone who:

constantly tells stories that sound like make believe or instantly gets attached to you like magic. Catfish are usually eager for attention and approval and they’ll go as far as they can to get it.

have an impossibly troubled or traumatic past and constantly bring it up to gain sympathy or use it as a tool to make friends and/or justify their behavior towards people.

isn’t willing to prove their authenticity by making up excuses or looks “too good”. If someone seems to good to be true, it’s because they probably are. They travel a lot, date a lot, are good looking and become the person you want them to become.
