tv writers really have done such damage to my reading comprehension bc I’ll be like “all the subtext and foreshadowing and obvious clues point to THIS” and then the writers will be like “ha ha I’m doing something completely different and also very stupid” Tim Minear don’t you know there is a reading crisis in this country

buck and eddie were on a gay side quest while maddie talked someone into killing himself and got kidnapped. i fucking love this show

my dear comrades in these beautiful but trying times it is important for all of us to be eddie diaz extremists. as we get closer to our goal facades of many closeted eddie haters will fall but we will persevere. in these spaces filled with buck infantilization it is important that we cultivate an environment where eddie diaz can do no wrong to counter the negative forces. also because he can do no wrong. cosigned by our leader buck buckley

Not be a buzz kill but I do think it's significant that any time Maddie or Hen goes through an NDE/otherwise traumatic experience everyone complains and tells the writers to stop traumatizing them but people actively root for Buck or Eddie NDEs. It's almost like they're actually just objecting to any detailed plotlines that center the women of the show because they would rather they exist as mouthpieces for their ship with no significant problems of their own than complex individuals who don't exist to service the male characters in the show

I feel like there's a certain type of "ex-evangelical" progressive who obviously supports mandatory progressive causes like abortion access and LGBT rights, but then in practice supports them "so strongly" that they can't compromise on anything. And if that means that they can't vote for candidates who support those issues because they aren't "good enough" and those issues get set back, well... That's a trade-off they're willing to make!

If there's one pro-choice candidate and one anti-choice candidate and you campaign against the pro-choice candidate because you don't think their support is strong enough, knowing that the alternative is the anti-choice candidate... I feel like you're not that pro-choice?

Or if you have one candidate who wants to maintain LGBT rights and one who wants to roll them back, and you oppose the pro-LGBT candidate because they don't want to... add 3 new sex markers to government IDs, but the other candidate wants to make it impossible to change the sex marker on your government ID at all... I don't think you're actually being very supportive of LGBT rights?
