Luminous Pathways ☮

Have you forgave someone who caused you so much pain, caused you so much trouble on your path? 

Telling the people you “forgive” them or telling them “I forgive you already” and you didn’t get any sorry from them? I have.

To be honest, at first it was really hard due to my personality back then I have a pride to protect, it doesn’t affect me because I didn’t care at all. But I knew that my relationship with my friend got stronger at first or the people I could call my “family.”

Of course, it’s part of the friendship where you encounter some misunderstanding/s. 

It’s been a year since I became a Christian. I had to go through so much, but the experience was worth it. Those misunderstanding/s was not something I expected from my family. I’m the only from the group who’s the oldest. HAHA. Weird though, but we were all different not only from our age gaps, but from our interests. It was really an eye opener to see that you could have people close to you who’s your opposite from your interests - to your personality.

The struggle of this adventures was I had to battle with my faith and with what I really feel. I was hurt. I was judged all throughout the year by the parents. I had to encounter things I shouldn’t even make a big deal out of it. 

But one thing that caught my attention was when I had some conversation with one of my closest friend from church. He told me “you have to love them even if they are hard to love.”

Of course, the faith and the hate feeling I had.. I had to let it go.

So I did.

It’s so hard to forgive them - because the emotional impact that they gave me and no apology was made from their end, hurts.

I had to suck up or eat all their offenses they made to me and just move on.

It’s like you saved up all the used paper til your trash bin’s full - then that’s the time you have to throw them away.

It was like taking baby steps. But the path I was going through could make me a better person, to help the people who did me wrong understand them better, love them better.

That’s the beauty of forgiving someone, no matter how heavy the pain they gave you, no matter how many times they made you cry, no matter how many issues to put you through, when you let go something and you start forgiving them genuinely -- makes your heart grow stronger and guarded.

When you learn the beauty of it, the outcome is really good.
