My boyfriend just woke up, mostly still asleep and told me “don’t worry, it’s getting better” in a heavy, American accent, which is unusual for an Australian man.

So what did they do? Did they make you love yourself a little more or did they make you throw yourself away?

It’s one of my theories that when people give you advice, they’re really just talking to themselves in the past.

I love you—I do—but I am afraid of making that love too important. Because you’re always going to leave me. We can’t deny it. You’re always going to leave.

At your best you still won’t be good enough for the wrong person. At your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right person.

Go on and cut all of the flowers in the garden of my soul. You will never keep the spring from coming. You will never stop them from blooming, again and again.

You’ll meet her, she’s very pretty, even though sometimes she’s sad for many days at a time. You’ll see, when she smiles, you’ll love her.
