*There's a knock on the door to Dally's room, after Dally went out, when Johnny opens the door, Darry's there.*
( @askdarrycurtis)
*Johnny opens it and looks at him absently for a moment. He then closes the door and locks it and turns back.*
*Darry knocks.*
*Johnny tries to ignore it and doesn't answer again. He has a throbbing headache from the crying and pulling at his hair. He tries to block Darry out and tell his brain to calm down as memories start to come forward.*
Dally called.
...
Ya know he's worried, right?
*He doesn't respond, just flips off the door and takes some pain medication.*
Hey.
*He doesn't talk. The only sounds that are heard from Johnny's side of the door are his soft footsteps and the pill bottle as he moves it.*
Johnny, I'm sorry.
*Johnny puts the pills away and walks back to the bed to flop down and hold a pillow over his head to muffle the sound of Darry's voice.*
*Darry stays, quiet for a long time, just waiting.*
*Johnny doesn't move.*
*He knocks again.*
*Johnny ignores it and pushes the pillow more against his head.*

(wrong tag?)
Johnny, I just wanna talk.
/-/oop meant to click darrys/-/
*He doesn't respond, just squeezes his eyes shut in hopes he'd go away.*
(no worries, I run both so we're good lol)
Are ya okay?
*No response.*
*He starts trying to break down the door, worried about Johnny's safety above all.*
*He panics and shoves himself under the bed where Darry couldn't see him.*
*He finally gets the door open, walks to stand as far away from the door as possible.*
I know you're here, kid. I ain't gonna hurt you, but I gotta make sure you're okay. I gotta know, alright? I ain't mad, I ain't gonna do nothing to ya, ya don't gotta talk to me. I ain't even asking you to listen.
But you're one of the people I care about, and look out for. I ain't always doing it the right way, I know that, but if ya ever wanna come over, the door's open, I'll set up the couch, heat some leftovers if ya want 'em, no questions asked. I want ya to know that. I want ya to know that I'm always gonna try to help. I don't care if ya come knocking 'cause the world's too much, if ya need a cut wrapped, no matter what caused it, if ya just need a roof over your head, somethin' to eat, or whatever. It's open for everyone in this gang, including you.
*He doesn't respond, staying quiet and absolutely silent and still. Go away go away go away-*
*He starts to walk towards the door.*
*Johnny freezes and isn't moving a muscle.*
*He leaves the room, standing outside, hidden from view.*
*Johnny doesn't move for a moment, scared and waiting to make sure he's left.*
*He waits.*
*Johnny eventually pokes his head out after a few minutes, thinking Darry's gone.*
*He's still waiting, not moving.*
*Johnny slowly crawls out and stands. He can't see Darry anywhere. Wait... Why would Darry leave the door open?..*
*Darry waits, still outside the door.*
*He cautiously steps towards the door to close it, a feeling of dread pooling in his gut like something was wrong about this situation.*
*Darry still waits, waiting to see if he comes out.*
*Johnny hesitantly grabs the handle to close the door.*
*Darry steps closer.*
*Johnny hears the step and freezes before slamming the door shut and scrambling back under the bed, heart pounding.*
*He tries the door.* I ain't meaning to scare you.
*He covers his ears and holds his breath, hidden from view.*
C'mon.
*He stays still, silent.*
I won't hurt you. Okay? There's nothin' in my hands, nothin' at all.
*He doesn't move. Why is he here, why is he here, why is he here?*
*He crouches by the bed.*
*Johnny's frozen, praying that Darry will go away.*
/-/ @askdarrycurtis /-/
I'm askin' you to come home, kid.
*Johnny stays silent and doesn't move a muscle.*
Johnny?
*He doesn't respond, just wishing Darry wouldn't know he's there.*
*He knows, taking a deep breath.*
I know you're there.
*He curses himself internally but doesn't move, barely even breathing.*
I ain't hurting you.
*Johnny closes his eyes, trying his hardest to block Darry out.*
*He just waits.*
*Johnny doesn't make himself known in the slightest.*
*He waits, calmly.*
*Johnny's hands are still tightly clasped over his ears and he is completely still and quiet.*
What are you scared of?
*He doesn't respond.*
Johnny.
...
C'mon kid.
*no response. no movement.*
*He crawls under the bed.*
*He flinches and backs into the corner, breath catching.*
It's okay. *He makes sure Johnny can get out.*
*Johnny crawls out and bolts out the room, closing the door before Darry can react. He's running for his life down the stairs and out the building, wishing Dally never left.*
*Dally is right outside the building.* Hey hey hey, what's ya hurry?
*He skirs to a stop, breathing heavily.*
Darry-
What 'bout him?
He came an' he's tryna make me come wit' him an' he broke down the door...
*He rambles*
He's wantin' ya to be safe, ya know how he is.
*He has a look of betrayl in his eyes*
Dally, I'm fine, I can handle myself, ya don't even know what happened!
Ya scared of Darry?
What did happen?
I ain't scared o' him, I don't wanna see him. Damnit, I said I don't wanna talk about it, I don't got time t' explain it, now Dar's gonna come out any second now.
*Johnny runs past Dally and starts sprinting somewhere else.*
Oh for....
Johnny!
*Johnny keeps sprinting so he's out of sight.*
*He follows.*
*He doesn't stop. He's breathing hard and his heart is pounding in his chest. Jeez, he has to stop smoking...*
*He's trying to keep up.*
*He doesn't stop. His legs, scalp and lungs burn.*
What ya runnin' for?
