Seriously, I’m dying to incorporate some Japanese elements into Yukine… So, I’d like to tentatively decide that Yukine’s other superpower is the “To generate shuriken, kunai, and a naginata made of ice.” She isn’t strong at all, but I thought she might be able to handle light weapons or ones that make use of centrifugal force. I think this is probably a power she developed later in life, since she knew absolutely nothing about supernatural power while she was in Japan. There are several different shapes of shuriken, but some of them look like snowflakes!
I don’t know if this superpower puts a strain on Yukine’s body… but I want her to suffer, even just a little bit (shut up) Since her weapons are made of ice, she can’t really kill her opponents, but she can use them to temporarily restrain them. I also think she can cause frostbite. (I’ve never lived in Tohoku or Hokkaido, so I don’t know the true horror of snow and ice🧊☃❄️) I’d love to see a scene where she throws her weapon at demons or evil people and instantly immobilizes them!!!!
Since her weapons are made of ice, that means they will eventually melt. Therefore, I think she needs to practice creating them so that they are harder and sharper a long time. As in the illustration I posted the other day, if she were told to fight without using her superpowers, what kind of weapon do you think she’d try? She might go for an American-style handgun, or she might use a morning star, in keeping with the “sky” theme. A katana requires a lot of strength, so she probably wouldn’t be able to use one😂 I thought bow and arrows sounded like cool, too. Why? Well, when I studied abroad in Australia a while back, I tried archery, and I was actually pretty good at it, haha.

When I first created her, I never imagined I’d end up developing her character this deeply… I’d actually had my self-insert original character, “Yukine Ritsuka,” for several years, but I never thought I’d end up branching her off for IBVS. It’s all thanks to everyone who’s shown interest in her. The number of Yukine fan art pieces and fan fiction I’ve received is already looking like it’ll exceed 10(In less than half a year, WHATT) Thank you all so much everyone as always😭✨️✨️✨️

Ahem...
I wanted to say that ice, snow, and cold are much more dangerous than people usually imagine. So a weapon made of ice could actually be a terrifying weapon. Since it melts over time, it literally gets rid of the evidence. Ice can be incredibly hard and sharp, enough to seriously injure or even kill someone if used correctly. Even tightly packed snow can hurt someone or cause a concussion if it's thrown hard enough.
You have no idea how many bruises I got from playing ordinary snowball fights as a kid, lol. (Okay... maybe not ordinary. Sometimes we put rocks inside the snowballs to make it "more fun." Don't ask. My friends and I were complete idiots. )
Another thing is prolonged exposure to extreme cold. It can actually make the blood in your fingers start freezing. A few times I forgot or lost my mittens, and the blood circulation in my fingers got so bad from the cold that warming them back up was unbelievably painful. I was literally screaming while they thawed. It's honestly pretty brutal...
God, I spent WAY too much time on this sketch. Maybe later I'll do it as a full-time job, but it's almost three in the morning and I want to sleep...
The snow around her is supposed to create a little snowy atmosphere, and I also tried experimenting with the lighting a bit.
