She heard there was rain somewhere in the 7-day forecast. Perfect excuse to wear her rain boots. (at West Chester, Pennsylvania)

Here is a picture of my daughter’s french fries. Stick with me here. So Saturday, we finally took the girls to their first @phillies game. The whole lead-up to the game I was so hopeful that we would get to see the @philliephanatic (the Phillies mascot for those unfamiliar, and easily the best mascot in sports). Not just that we’d see him but that the girls would love him, as I did (and still do). . We get to our seats and there’s a little girl in front of my daughter, eating french fries. My daughter becomes transfixed on the fries. She practically became a parrot on this poor kid’s shoulder, trying to get herself closer to the fries. . So after an inning of watching this unfold, we decide to go get food. My daughter doesn’t want a hot dog, she doesn’t want chicken fingers, she wants fries and don’t dare suggest anything else. . We get through the line and we’re trying to get ketchup, and suddenly, there he is! The big guy is standing no more than 10 feet from my daughter, but she’s so focused on trying to eat her scalding hot fries that she can’t be bothered to look up. Opportunity missed. . We got two more opportunities to see the Phanatic as he passed by our table where we ate our food, and a little later as he stopped to take pictures with a bunch of people. Both times, the mere suggestion of any non-french fry activity was heartily voted down. . So here’s the picture that she wanted taken of her trip to see her first Phillies game... her fries... Phillies won 2-1 (at Citizens Bank Park)
