or, Valarr and Daeron getting married bc that's what their fathers wanted (bc they couldn't get married, so they insisted on uniting their lines by their firstborn children, yk the drill)
and it's... awkward, to say the least
for the first time in his life, Valarr doesn't know what to do. he's always kind to Daeron, offering to spend time with him, trying to court him properly, and it doesn't change after the wedding. his uncle made Valarr promise that he'll take good care of Daeron, who might seem lost or mad at times, but is actually kind-hearted. Valarr intends to keep his word. and yet, there's still a distance between them,
and Daeron is scared. he knows what his dreams told him, it will all end up in a tragedy and their line will eventually die. he also knows what people are whispering about him, questioning his virginity, commenting on his drinking habits. he wants to be close with Valarr like when they were kids, but how can he do so if in the end it will all end up in a tragedy?
and then, he finds himself pregnant (suprising, since they did the thing only on their wedding night)
he dreamed of blood spilled, of a baby taken from his arms, and is once again worried, thinking that either him or his baby won't survive
he already loves his baby so much, and yet he knows that he'll have to say goodbye to it, he thinks they just can't exist together
he doesn't tell Valarr any of it, bc he'll think he married a mad man, unable to give him heirs
for moons he's been watching his omega wither, smiling sadly at things for their future baby, crying when he thought Valarr's not looking
and the more Valarr keeps pushing, the more Daeron is pulling away, spiralling in his own despair
the breaking point is the birth of their baby
Daeron insisted on doing it alone, bc he doesn't want any of his family members, and especially not Valarr, to see him dying or, worse, to see his baby dying
Valarr is waiting by the door of the chamber, pacing nervously, wanting to be with his omega (should someone else, like Maekar maybe, be there waiting or...???)
the birth is slow and painful, everyone is worried that it won't end well, and then Daeron finally breaks, asking the maids to call Valarr,
only to ask him, that if in the he'd have to make this choice, he'll choose their baby instead of Daeron
Valarr doesn't agree to it, bc he's not going to give up Daeron, he's irreplaceable for him
then Daeron spills his dreams, saying that he knows he'll only bring pain to Valarr, that because of him he'll never get crowned and his line will end
listen, Valarr doesn't care, they both have siblings and uncles who can inherit the crown, he'll be more than happy living with Daeron at Dragonstone, spoiling him for the rest of their lives
here's the thing tho, what would Daeron say??? I have no idea how to move this
in the end, his dreams were wrong
Maesters didn't thought of that bc Daeron's bump was actually pretty normal, but it's not entirely right what he saw
it makes him both calm and worried, bc he assumed he'll die in childbirth, and then he doesn't? (like, he's exhausted but fine, and the babies are smaller but doing well, so what was that all about?)
(so it's probably already obvious, but it was not his fate he saw :>> I'll come back to it later)
but like how does it end tho, do they go on Dragonstone and it's just them and boys, and then like 7 years later a daughter? or should it just end with them finally talking about their failmarriage??? truly no idea how to finish this
