It’s so machine like. Whereas here we kind of have actual people who are passionate about the music they make. Even our pop stars like Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Beyoncé (who don’t even write majority of their music) are heavily involved in their CRAFT.

Whereas, Kpop is just a bunch of puppets dressed up, and pulled by strings to sing and dance.

These are not artists.

Just a bunch of kids who signed a contract to be an “idol”.

Please don’t make them a “thing” here.

And this is coming from a fan.

I understand BTS might be your bias, but I’m just going to write it-what is separating them from the hundreds of other Kpop groups that the labels put out?

Nothing.

They are empty shells painted to be whatever is trendy.

And I don’t want to see that become mainstream.

We already dealt with that in the early 2000’s where every other artist coming out was a boy band or girl group.

But some of you may not be old enough to remember.

Do I enjoy some Kpop, yes.

Do I consider it “real” music.

No.

It’s Korean bubblegum Pop. Just like American bubblegum pop… It’s supposed to just be mindless and fun . Not taken seriously.

Not even South Koreans really take Kpop serious, and that’s where it is from.
