what's an aspect of feedism you wish got more attention?
As a feeder/ffa/encourger, being a safe space, I've only seen it as "don't be fatphobic and deconstruct fatphobia", but I personally think that it should be more than that. I feel like when you're an adult and as you work on insecurities and such, you end up identifying bs with more ease and things feel much less of a torture than when you were a teen, not going to Greg's party is no longer a matter of life or death.
But when you're someone who doesn't fit into the specific mold, you get reminded of that, whether literally by people telling you that or by seeing how things work against you. If you're neurodivergent, disabled, poc, queer, trans, etc. You can feel "the otherness" sometimes that can be brushed off, sometimes it's more difficult.
With this kink, I feel like it's normal for those insecurities/thoughts to grab ahold of you and drag you down, to sometimes overthink, to be exhausted of everybody pushing you into some fad diet. As I said, sometimes it is easy to brush it aside and there will be times in which it isn't and we can spiral. I think being a feeder is much more than just feeding someone or buying them food, it's more complex than an "easy" one time transaction (I say "easy" bc this economy sucks).
Sometimes I'll need to be a raft in the chaotic sea of thoughts and maybe in others I'll just need to listen to them and reassure them. We are human, we all need emotional space and we occupy it, whether we like it or not and this kink is not the exception.
I understand why this isn't really brought up, it is emotional weight afterall (no pun intended), emotional vulnerability would leave someone exposed and that's tough, baring your neck, your weak spot to the world can be difficult at best and unwise at worst. With the feedees I talk to, I try to offer that safe space, that's part of why I closed my dms, so much shallowness, the same 3 lines, and I understand it, for many this is kink/fetish first, but I don't like seeing it just like that.
And I don't say all this as exclusively romantic or adjacent to a situationship, I mean it as totally platonic as well.
