If I made a queerbait show, I'd have the queer ones kiss or even make out in the very background of one shot in a super blink-and-you-miss-it moment, and after a mere couple days (or less depending on the show's popularity), I'd inexplicably change it so that they give each other a high five instead. Only the fans that noticed the original version or pirated the original version would even know the episode got republished and edited. It would never be addressed otherwise. Anyways, I think the Duffer brothers should hire me.

In one episode at the very start of the show (before the ship's even really had a chance to be explored), one of the queerbait fellows will wear a sweater; when they take it off, they will have hickeys that are barely noticeable and you can't even properly see except for, again, in very specific frames.

These will never be explained except for in one Tweet I'll have the makeup designer post where they'll vaguely imply those were, in fact, intentional makeup, confirming that they did not come from the actor's real personal life.

If asked in an interview about either of these happenings, I will play dumb and gaslight the press, acting like I hadn't even considered these two characters as a possible ship before.

I'd also "kill off" one of the two queerbait individuals in a season finale early the show. They'll eventually be brought back, but their queerbait partner will be the only one clearly haunted and impacted by experiencing that loss throughout the duration of the show that it genuinely influences how manipulatable they are by antagonists.

It will exist in them being extremely protective of their friend that once was believed dead, in little fears and anxieties, in completely new dynamic around them, in clinginess, etc. It will also be implied in seemingly throwaway dialogue that this person has been on antidepressants for at least a whole season since their friend died.

One of them will have the postcard from Brokeback Mountain pinned to their bedroom wall next to a poster near-identical to the Midsummer Night's Dream audition flyer from Dead Poets Society in the background and nobody acknowledges it.

The other will have the gayest possible selection of books in their room's shelf, featuring Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker, and Walt Whitman.
