The lab is tense, yet awfully quiet. There is a strong sense of uncertainty and dread looming over everyone.
Lyn wasn't bothered well if anything she was furiously working away to keep her rage at bay however the floor for five feet around her was SOLID Ice. She explictly wanted to be left alone and she had told her coworkers such unless there was a emergency.
Lyn gets an email from someone in the labs network "Hi! I don't think we've been properly introduced. My name is Doctor Nicholas Crosby and I'm a long time colleague of Isaiah. He's currently in Washington DC right now alongside Gaster and Mark. There's a huge meeting at the Pentagon and he's been asked to go. Me and Alphys decided to stay behind. Surprisingly Sans has somewhat decided to help around here which is unusual given he hardly shows up around the underground anymore.
I know you're probably upset over a lot of things and believe me, I'm trying to take my mind off stuff too. Why don't you head down to Grillby's when you have a chance? I'm sure good food will take your mind off whatever's troubling you for a while."
Lyn looks over at her computer and just sighs pushes her chair back and stands up leaving what she was doing on her desk before walkibg out. She was just intending on taking the fastest route out of the lab.
There were hardly any researchers. Occasionally, you would see someone wheeling off a crate to some storage room. Other than that, there wasn't much activity. There was a distant conversation in one of the other rooms "Alphys, what's the status on the gateway?" A voice came over what sounded like a radio "Th-The gateway is charged and should be able to open a portal...i-if we have to..." Her voice nervously cut off. "Good to hear!" The researcher replied.
The exit to The Core was a while off but Lyn probably knew how to find her way out.
Lyn is making her way through just mainly she's ignoring the whole of everything around her with her hands inside her pockets as she thinks upon something that she has on her mind.
'... I keep telling them... but still I don't trust it atleast not fully... We're suppose to help people as researchers not destroy a universe.'
The Core was working as usual, the distant ambience of machinery running filled the air. Like usual, it was maintained by a team of mostly monsters but also a few humans. Hotland had always been an industrial powerhouse which could be jarring for anyone coming in from any other region.
Humans in the underground would take the recently built light rail network or, of they wanted to take something a little less crowded, the elusive river person would always take them wherever they needed to go on their boat. Naturally they wouldn't want to walk all the way to wherever they were going.
Lyn was actually heading for the River Person's Boat not wanting to be taking the rail system due to her prefernces. That and because she enjoyed the little bits of quiet and banter.
The river person was waiting patiently "Tra la la! Where shall we go today?" There were a few destinations on the river. Snowdin and hotland were the main 2. Waterfall was usually visited for anyone trying to relax. Most humans didn't go too far in waterfall since it can be an unsettling place.
Either fortunately or Unfortunately Lyn wasn't Human, "To Waterfall... I need some time away from the hustle and bustle... and... a place to clear my head." She steps onto the boat and looks up, up towards the roof, while reaching for her phone.
The river person took their boat to Waterfall. One of the most undervisited spots in the underground. It was usually empty save for locals and an occasional military police patrol accompanying scientists. Most people didn't stay any longer than they needed to. Some would feel as if they were being watched by some unseen pair of eyes. Even though it was completely quiet. But perhaps that was the problem. It is too quiet. Either way, Lyn would be able to clear her mind here.
Lyn steps off of the boat, ice forming around her feet as she starts walking off into Waterfall, trying to avoid those she might run into. She sends a quick message to Doctor Crosby,
"In waterfall clearing my head, let me know if I'm needed for anything. PS: Grillby's is fine, but just a bit too much for me. - Doctor L. Bleakwood."
Then her phone is immediately shoved back into her pocket.
