I've been seeing discourse about identifying as a feminist while getting plastic surgery and the impact it has on other women, and I keep seeing people say stuff like "well, women shouldn't have to be role models all the time!" ...Why don't you want to be a role model? Do you have no desire to mirror your beliefs?
Like yeah, obviously nobody wants to have every single one of their actions be internalized by others... but that's what happens, especially with young girls.
The choice to not get plastic surgery is a non-action. It saves you thousands of dollars, weeks of recovery, and the inevitability of having to spend even more money on touch-ups later because every procedure fades. You are choosing to sink ridiculous amounts of money into an endless pursuit of beauty that, if even achieved at all, will only last for so long.
We all age, we all change, we all gain and lose weight. It is ultimately healthier for your mental and physical health to stop chasing unattainable beauty. That's only part of why we say plastic surgery isn't feminist, but its relevant here.
We don't live in a vacuum. Why are you fighting so hard to not be judged for a decision that affects everybody around you? It doesn't even benefit you! Please, stop focusing on your appearance and on being desirable and go outside. make friends. Engage in hobbies. Get some healthy exercise. Focus on your physical health rather than your physical beauty. Enjoy life beyond that mirror you're stuck in front of.
also you can die. Genuinely you can just die on that table. no matter how unlikely it is, it can and does happen. and you are paying thousands of dollars for a surgeon (likely male) to agree with your assessment that you are so ugly/flawed that itâs okay to risk your life ending and cut into you while doing so. and when you celebrate other women having this done you are participating in the patriarchal death cult of cosmetic medicine and affirming it was the right choice to risk their death
Ladies, donât tell your partners youâre getting an abortion. Youâre causing the meth addiction epidemic.
Problem solved!
Unfortunately its very real.
If a woman exercising her rights to her own body causes a man to become addicted to drugs and homeless, maybe life is just too hard for him and he should stop trying.
yea the guy who becomes homeless and meth addicted after not becoming a father certainly wouldve made a great dad. as we all know being a parents is a very chill stress free and pain free deal
^My thoughts exactly. Oh jeez, I wonder why the woman (who most likely was a teenager) did not want to have a child with this guy and be forced to keep him in her life for the next 20 years. I also enjoy how the sob story is somehow made more tragic because the man was robbed of a BOY.
Men! Don't like abortions? Get a vasectomy or abstain!

Do yourselves a massive favor: practice asking for help BEFORE it's an emergency.
I am a social worker. I have worked in community mental health and in home-based healthcare. And it is much, much easier for me to help you when the situation you're in is not yet a full-blown crisis.
"I'm out of money and have been for a while and now I haven't eaten for three days." This is a crisis. A crisis where I'm likely going to have to put you in the car and take you to the nearest food bank--except food banks require appointments now, and the next opening is in four days, so you're staring down the barrel of a week with no food. That's obviously not going to work, so, let's call eight different food banks until we've found one that has an appointment the next day...except it's in the neighboring county and you can't drive. So now I'm calling your doctor to try and brow beat an emergency plan of care update out of him so I can come back the next day and drive you to the food bank. And we haven't even started on the "constantly broke" part of the problem.
"I don't think I have enough food to make it to my next paycheck. I have (xyz) in my house and that will only last until (date)." This is bad, but not a crisis. We have a few days. We make you an appointment at the food bank and contact your brother to make sure you have a ride there. Now we can spend our visit talking about what bills are causing you the most problems and make a jump on a long-term solution, like looping in a community action agency to cover your utilities and getting you an OTC card from Medicaid to cover some of your groceries every month.
"I'm ten months behind on rent, and my landlord said I have a week to get out, or the cops will throw me out. I don't have the money, and if I get evicted, I have nowhere to go." This is a crisis. Every single thing we do here is going to be some version of a Hail Mary. In Michigan, we have the state emergency relief fund for rent issues, but process time is well over one week. There are community action agencies that we can call to assist you with payment, but they are unlikely to have sufficient funds to cover nearly a year of back rent. We can contact legal aid clinics to try and prevent your landlord from evicting you, but they may look at your case and determine that too much "fault" lies with you. Most likely, I'm going to have to put you in touch with homeless shelters and the public housing office.
"I'm two months behind on rent and I don't think I'll be able to pay next month either." This is bad, but not a crisis. This is solvable. We have time to apply for SER, or put you in contact with community action agencies. We have time to review your finances and see if you qualify for a public housing wait list or other forms of ongoing rental assistance. We have time to talk about a million possible adjustments to try and ease the burden of your rent.
"I am the sole caregiver for my elderly parent who has dementia and is emotionally volatile and fully dependent on me. I have not slept through the night in weeks and I have not had an actual break for over a year. I am having screaming meltdowns multiple times a week and I am threatening self-harm unless someone comes to collect my parent and take over all caregiver duties." This is a crisis. This is a crisis where the ethical code of my profession demands that I call 911 and report the conversation to them. They will likely come to the house and interview you. If they determine your threats were serious, they will have you forcibly committed to a psych ward. Your parent will either be dumped into a random hospital or rehab center, or left in the house on their own. Upon release from your psych hold, you will be expected to resume caregiving duties as though nothing happened. Except, now, adult protective services is actively investigating you, because it was determined you may be an ongoing danger to your parent.
"I am the sole caregiver for my demented parent, and I have not had a break in a couple of weeks, and I feel angry and weepy most of the time." This is bad, but not a crisis. We can get you in touch with volunteer groups for respite, and apply for state funded programs to get more day-to-day help, and talk about long-term planning for when the dementia symptoms get worse. We can get you the phone numbers for crisis lines and enroll you in a support group.
Obviously, you can ask for help at any point. Don't use this an excuse to never ask for help. If you always wait until it's a crisis, fine, you have free will. But you are ALLOWED to ask for help BEFORE you're in a blind panic, and it is always easier to get help when you aren't screaming and sobbing because you think your life is over.
Your friendly new butch neighbor works up a sweat helping you move in đ¤
Every time you go in a public place and something ISNâT disgusting itâs because somebody cleaned it. Every time you feel comfortable using a public bathroom or sitting at a restaurant table or setting something on a gas station counter or playing on a playground itâs because somebody cleaned it.
Thank you to everyone who cleans the world, especially those who are underpaid and under appreciated.
âdrag is about parodying gender roles!â mayhaps itâs not the job of men to make fun of the cage they put women into <3
âItâs not about mocking women or their bodies!â Then why do they have fake tits and hip padding and why do they make their voices like that
âDrag comes from a place of love and respect for women, like their mothers and sisters and favorite celebritiesâ huh so then do they also openly call their mothers and sisters bitches and whores and sluts and cunts and bimbos?
âdrag is entertainment!â
then why is it torturously unfunny and an affront to the eyes

i think the world doesnât know what it really means to live in a theocratic dictatorship. Let me tell you about our experiences living in the islamic regime of iran.
1. Your parents were born to muslim parents so theyâre automatically muslim. Youâre automatically a muslim too. You didnât choose your religion and you canât opt out of it or you will be executed.
2. The compulsory hijab law makes you a criminal if you choose not to wear hijab even tho you didnât choose to be a muslim and you donât consider yourself a muslim but the regime has forced you into that role whether you like it or not. And when you âbreak that lawâ, they can do with you as they please.
3. little girls as young as 7 yrs old are forced to wear hijab at school even tho the islam itself says the age is 9. and all the schools are gender segregated so imagine how they force you to get used to hijab even when youâre just surrounded by other girls. And all day long at school they tell you horrible stories about what will happen to you in hell if someone sees even a strand of your hair.
4. the regime modifies all the textbooks, story books, cartoons and movies to represent the ideal woman with full on hijab. The iranian media is ordered to photoshop every photo of a woman that may be showing a little skin. And if theyâre iranian, no hair is supposed to be seen or that will be photoshopped away. Women are mostly excluded from billboards and tv commercials.
5. imagine going to work or meeting up with a friend when suddenly the morality police kidnap you in broad daylight and force you into a van to take you to a station where they will treat you like a criminal and if you donât agree to get humiliated and do as they say, they will put you in prison. And in case of Mahsa Amini and so many more before her, they will beat you to death. My sister was barely 18 when she got kidnapped and they didnât let her call home and sheâd been so fucking scared and we had no idea where she was. Imagine all the psychological trauma.
6. If youâre in a car and not wearing hijab they will fine you and seize your car. So when u get into a taxi the driver will ask you to keep your hijab on otherwise theyâll get fined. And if you refuse theyâll ask you to get off the car.
7. And its not just about hijab. In Ramadan, they get even more vicious. If they catch you eating or even drinking water on the street they will give you lashes as punishment and even imprison you for breaking the law. If you work in a state-owned company itâs even worse. They will close the cafeteria and take away the water dispensers. All restaurants are banned from delivering food before iftar. Itâs a fucking mess. Everyone has to pretend theyâre fasting or theyâll be severely punished.
8. And how could I forget about this! iranian women are banned from singing! the islamic regime prohibits womenâs singing voices to be heard by men so imagine the horror of having 50% of the population banned from ever becoming a singer. If they identify a female singer in iran, they will take her to jail and force her to repent her sins in the most humiliating way so that she will never dare sing again.
9. And every time the regime gets wind of a private gathering of men and women trying to have fun and live their fucking private lives, the police crash the party and take everyone to jail bc the Islamic regime bans iranian men and women from having fun.
10. Did you know that the islamic regime doesnât allow womenâs faces to be printed on their obituaries or headstones? They put a flower for our faces instead and if they see a headstone with a womanâs face printed on it theyâll smash it to pieces. Thatâs how religious dictatorship continues to oppress and erase women even after their deaths.
So if you see Islam has become for many iranians a symbol of oppression and torture and discrimination, thatâs why. The regime uses islam as a weapon to silence and punish anyone who opposes them. You can love islam all you want from the safety of your home in a free country and talk about how kind and benevolent the religion is, but in iran, itâs a whole different story.
Our economy is fucked. All govt officials are corrupt as fuck. Most websites are banned in iran. Even tumblr is banned. The world has cut the iranian ppl from many services. We donât have intl credit cards like visa card. Amazon doesnât do delivery to iran. We cant get netflix, spotify or even a gamepass subscription. we donât get any Apple services here. iran isnât listed as a country you could choose when signing up for a lot of services. and when we decide to leave iran and escape this hellhole, every country out there will make it sooo much harder for us to get a visa just bc we had the misfortune to be born in iran at the wrong time.
This is the story of iran for the past 44 years. Held hostage by a corrupt regime that uses religion to suppress and torture the people and being abandoned by the rest of the world bc our lives donât matter.
Please be our voice. Once they shut down the internet completely and silence our voice, they will start slaughtering us to stifle the protests just like they did in 2019. Please help us. We want this fucking regime gone.
Absolute delusion
Average "male feminist"
he won't do that not because it's fucking repulsive and violent and dehumanizing and one of the worse things that one could experience but because he doesn't want to be 'labeled as a bad person'. i hope he's DEAD, i'm feral
excellent tags
âBut Iâm afraid that if I said that I would be labeled a bad person.â
Letâs take note of the little details on this, that speak volumes. Itâs not âIâm afraid I would be a bad person.â, which would imply a basic, tiny modicum of remorse or introspection.
Heâs afraid of the label. Even if thatâs not what he consciously intended to write, itâs what he unconsciously means.
His concern lies solely with his public image, his reputation, his ego.
And this is why we donât trust men. Especially the self-proclaimed âgoodâ ones.
Good people donât need to speak of their goodness. Their goodness speaks for itself.
Notice how it's not having sex with a very attractive woman - it's specifically rape
100%
A lot of people think rapists are just horny.
No.
Rapists are sadistic. They enjoy the terrorism of their act, the violation, the damage inflicted, the control and the power. But most of all, the damage. Itâs the ultimate masturbation of the psychotic narcissist; it stimulates and climaxes their stroke their most treasured organ of all.
Their male ego.
He doesn't need more money so he doesn't see the point in robbing a bank. He doesn't want to kill anyone so he doesn't see the point in doing that. He does see the point in rape though, the point is he hates women so very much that he would rape just any ole woman. Not even a specific woman he has reason to hate. Just. Any random woman. And with no condom to ensure that he's maximized the pain and trauma to this hypothetical woman.
He is a bad person. Hatred makes you a bad person. Anyways, unlike him I am not afraid of being labeled and would kill this man even if there *were* consequences, situation permitting.
my crops have failed, my wife has left me, my skin is breaking out, i am constipated,
fixed it.
my wife came home and my skin started clearing up

What she said: âbiological men shouldnât be competing in womenâs sportsâ
What The Telegraph said:
the fucking dramatics of these people! itâs so embarrassing. this is revealing though. they think that not wanting to accept males into female spaces, especially sports, where male inclusion could lead to female injury, exposure to male genitalia in locker rooms, and ultimately female self exclusion, is anti-trans. if that is anti-trans, then to be pro-trans would be to allow those bad things to happen to female athletes in the name or âinclusionâ for men who want to be women. interestingâŚ.
