Before y’all read this epilogue, I just wanna say thank you. This was the first piece of writing I posted on Tumblr. I’ve been wanting to post on here for years, but I never did because I was highkey intimidated, so I kept to Wattpad, which has provided me a wonderful platform and the confidence to keep writing.

And I didn’t think it was possible, but you guys increased that tenfold with the amazing and unexpected response you gave me with every chapter posted. Sugar Coated Pain is always, always going to have a special place in my heart, because it was the first story I posted on Tumblr, and definitely because it was my first Calum story, LMAO. 

Noelle Simon is, by far, one of my favorite characters I’ve written. Her stubbornness, her curiosity, her kindness and her heart make her who she is; the character you all fell in love with, who I fell in love with, and who our fictional Calum Hood fell in love with. Thank you for loving her the way I did.

Thank you for loving this story the way you so fiercely have.

Thank you for making this so memorable. I can’t wait to post more stories and I can’t wait for you guys to read them. I hope you’re just as passionate about my upcoming stories as you were with this one.

“Hey.” The all to familiar voice came down the line. “Missed my flight. You free?” He asks.

This wasn’t new. In fact, it was too common. Every time Calum Hood was in the same state as you, he’d ‘miss’ his flight.

“Oh, Hood missed his flight again.” You immediately snark.

“Yeah, we covered that. Come out with me.” He breathes.

Summary: Michael is hella clingy because he wants attention

You and Michael had been enjoying a lazy Sunday together wrapped up in bed. You were scrolling through your phone when you received a text from your friend that said “Hey, Y/N! I was just wondering if you had finished that worksheet for Mrs. Fuslier’s class. I’m stuck on the last question.” Your eyes bugged out of your head, and you quickly got out of bed and ran towards your backpack, ripping out the worksheet from your notebook. You quickly made your way to your desk and began to look over the biology worksheet frantically. It was due tomorrow morning, and you had completely forgotten about it.

You were quickly working through it, struggling at some points because you had missed the class over it. You were texting your friend trying to figure out what you missed and if she could give you a crash course over it. While working, you felt a pair of hands wrap around the top of your shoulders and slowly massage the tense muscles, you leaned your head back a bit at the pleasant feeling, make you slowly relax.

“Come back to bed babe,” Michael whispered while continuing his movements on your shoulders.

“I can’t Michael; I have to get this done.” You sighed while pushing his hands away.

“Come on; I have other things we could get done that are more enjoyable than what you’re doing.” His hands went back to your shoulders and slowly slid down your arms.

“Michael, seriously!” You snapped back and grabbed your stuff, making your way downstairs so you could work in peace.

“I don’t understand why he has to be so clingy.” You huffed while sitting down on the couch.

You heard the steps creak from the weight of Michael’s feet coming down them. He sat down beside you and looked timidly towards your face. Your hair was in a messy bun, hair flying everywhere and falling to your front, your large t-shirt was draped over your shoulders, and your fingers toyed with the sweatpants strings that adorned your legs. He sighed as he moved closer to you. He tucked some of the hair that had fallen to the front of your face, behind your ear. 

“I’m sorry,” he mumbled while burying his face in your shoulder.

You sighed while leaning your head on top of his. You finished up your last problem before snapping a picture and sending it to your friend. You sat the paper down on the coffee table and wrapped your arms around his body and brought him closer to you. You all leaned back against the couch, tangled up together. It was silent between you both, not so much awkward but more calming in a way. 

“Again, I’m sorry. I know I’m clingy, but I just got back, and I missed you. I just wanted to cuddle you.” Michael broke the silence between you both. You pulled him closer to your body.

“It’s okay; I’m sorry for being a bitch. I’m just stressed out with school.”

“I love you,” he tilted your chin up so your faces would meet.

You softly kissed his lips before you cuddled closer to him.
