Don’t be bitter, be better.

I want to become acutely aware of all I’ve taken for granted.

But why do I notice everything? She thought. Why must I think? She did not want to think. She wanted to force her mind to become a blank and lie back, and accept quietly, tolerantly, whatever came.

Why is it always something?

What draws people to be friends is that they see the same truth. They share it.

When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.

I guess by now I should know enough about loss to realize that you never really stop missing someone – you just learn to live around the huge gaping hole of their absence.

Loneliness is a terrible thing and to be alone with people can be pretty horrible.

Look at you. You’re young. And you’re scared. Why are you so scared? Stop being paralyzed. Stop swallowing your words. Stop caring what other people think. Wear what you want. Say what you want. Listen to the music you want to listen to. Play it loud as f*ck and dance to it. Go out for a drive at midnight and forget that you have school the next day. Stop waiting for Friday. Live now. Do it now. Take risks. Tell secrets. This life is yours. When are you going to realize that you can do whatever you want?
