This cracked me up! And was lowkey so nice. I’m glad I’m not dead, too!
The stories I write are so special to me, and honestly, for every unfinished one, I have an outline and an outstanding Google doc that’s partially filled.
I don’t see myself stopping writing at all, but life is also crazy, so sometimes, it can take a while. (In the case of this particular fic, several years. OBWAT needs at least one more chapter, but Tim Drake has me by a chokehold.)
For the two people who read my things, here’s my plan (as much as an ADHD, epileptic middle aged mom with a current covid diagnosis and an impending layoff from an 8+ year job due to the current government’s hatred of all things nonprofit can actually plan):
Finish “Something is Not the Same”. I’m working on the next chapter and anticipate that story being done this fall.
Finish “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?”. (One more chapter, but I think it will be long because it’s an epilogue that needs to wrap up everyone’s journey.) Hopefully by December.
Possible new Tim Drake fic in 2027 or return to “Uncle Obie” and see how I can finish that. (I have a detailed outline, but the actual writing will take some time.)
I am always amazed at people who can churn these out so quickly. I’m not a super fast writer but I love it so much. It’s self-care and a nice way to teach my kid that things are worth doing just for yourself, and not because you have to.
For as slow as I’m moving, though, at least you’ll know it’s not written by AI. 😂
