Gold on Your Fingertips
Chapter Two
The few weeks before the start of the new year didn't change much, which didn't surprise Xisuma all that much. A few new students are not much of an issue for them, as the academy's systems can handle that with little input from people, if only to make sure the right data had been pulled up. The only change was to figure out how to include the temporary biology teacher in the plans that he and the others hope to set up for the year.
All he knows is that it's going to be... frustrating.
"How do all of you manage to keep track of it all?" Keralis' head has a curious tilt to it, one that he easily recognizes from the younger members of his old pack. "Especially when all the students go off on their Hunts?"
Jacq has a knowing look on his face as he glances towards Xisuma, a look on his face that screams that he can tell just what Keralis might be by the way the man had phrased his sentence. It is no secret to Jacq as to what he himself is, and it was a night when they both were drunk when the man had managed to convince him how to tell if someone might be a werewolf, whether they be born as one or turned into one. Xisuma wasn't surprised that his friend had managed to remember what he had told him even though he knew that both were practically wasted that night.
Both Jacq and Xisuma eventually shrug in response to the question as Xisuma waves to his friend to try and ignore the phrasing, the man knowing full well that that is the best course of action. While they all know that some of the temporary staff are werewolves, a few of his fellow staff have proven that the idea of werewolves being near or in the school made them a bit... unreasonable. Most of them were fine with the thought that there were none in or on school grounds, but to have actual teachers and students among their numbers... There was a reason that Xisuma had chosen to keep quiet about the wolf that prowls his mind, and he's thankful that Jacq had a somewhat normal and reasonable reaction to Xisuma shifting in front of him for the first time, accidental as it was.
"You get used to it, over the years." Xisuma frowns, though, in response to the comment. "Though, by the sounds of it, this is something that your Academy doesn't do."
Keralis' huff and shake of his head is almost canine-like, and it causes a curious whine from his wolf. She doesn't show much interest in anything he does when it comes to stuff for Uva, or any stuff for that matter during the few weeks far before a full moon, let alone during the week directly after it, but this is the second time she had some kind of reaction so soon after a full moon. There is something about this Keralis that is sparking Eris' interest, and he's not sure how to respond to it.
"We... the island is small, too small to allow for something like this. It doesn't help that a fair number of the students are werewolves, and with the rules of their Packs, they shouldn't be too far from academy grounds. The Packs find that it's safer for them this way."
Xisuma hums in thought, not too sure how to feel about that. He gets it, in a way. His birth Pack wouldn't allow any of the pups to go too far from their inner territory; it's an instinct he even feels now. To see so many of the kids take off into the rest of the peninsula grates him in a way that reminds him of his childhood and young adulthood. It is an instinct that Xisuma had to learn how to work around, especially since he knows that the students’ Pokémon as well as near on every other person living in the Paldea region keeps a watchful eye on the students, ensuring their safety.
Despite knowing that, his instincts still demand to keep the children close.
"That is..." Jacq sighs, locking eyes with Xisuma as both of them think of the possibility that might be an issue for Xisuma later in the school year, "it is not something that Uva is equipped to handle. No wolves have dormed here before, and I'm not sure if the local wolf has shared any information about wolf or Pack life with Clavell and the nurses. You'll either have to approach Clavell about what he knows or to have him contact the wolf for you."
There is a look of consideration on Keralis' face after that, and he nods to the words. He knows that, more likely than not, he'll be getting some sort of message from the Director about the strange wolves wanting to talk to him. If that is to come, he's going to have to consider how he's going to talk to him. While it's a near-on certainty that they are able to tell that Xisuma smells like a wolf, he's not even sure if any of them realized that he is a wolf. Most of his fellow staff may not be able to figure it out, but wolves tend to be more perspective towards their surroundings, especially when it comes to traversing across a Pack's or loner's territory.
"I... We will take that into consideration," Keralis eventually states, eyes flickering back up to the other teachers' faces from where it had fallen to the table.
Xisuma doesn't doubt that they will. The only thing is, he doesn't know who he'll end up talking to if they ever decide to reach out as wolves seeking answers from the local.

There is a distant itch at the back of his mind as he crosses the fields; the Little Terror's footsteps being the only thing he can hear. She's not silent, not yet, and they both know that she'll be as quiet as him in time. For his instincts, it is a knowledge that has her purring in happiness at the back of his mind. While not his brood by blood, and with the pup not being the same species as him, it pleases Eris to have the ability to teach a pup how to hunt.
And with Eris and his instincts at the forefront of his mind...
"Why has this wolf caught your attention?" He eventually whispers to the representation of his instincts, giving into the urge to rub his scent across a nearby tree. It bows and creaks in protest to his weight, not properly grown to a thickness that can handle a full-grown werewolf. "Why is a turned wolf from an island and not one of the others from the rest of the peninsula, or the rest of the continent?"
The manifestation simply huffs in response, flashes of something crossing his mind's eye. She hasn't been this enigmatic for a long time, this secretive and iffy that it grates on his nerves when trying to figure out what the being wants. The last time he had to deal with Eris being near-on unapproachable and eyeing nearby people was when he was nearing...
Xisuma sighs when a smugness fills his mind, nudging the Little Terror forward and ahead of him when she whines in confusion when he stops. Along with the smugness comes a wave of want and lust, one that he brushes aside with some difficulty. He doesn't manage to brush aside and ignore the imagination of being filled and knotted over and over again, not able to shove down the whimper that bubbles from his chest. Xisuma is thankful that he had made the pup move ahead of him, the wind dragging the smell of his wetness away instead of towards.
"You just want a good lay?" He asks his instincts as they start to loop back to their starting spot, not really expecting a response as he huffs a change to their destination to the Houndour. "Despite the very high risks of bedding another wolf during a heat?"
"A pack will be better than one." Eris finally states before going quiet again, the wolf that represents her in his mind sulking in a spot that keeps her at the forefront.
It is there that she stops hiding the feeling of heat slowly but surely bubbling closer, of the needy want to be filled over and over again. With him now aware of the impending heat that he's soon to deal with, Eris will have no issue bombarding him with the craving to be bent over and filled with cock and cum, for him to give into the urge to find a suitable male wolf and be mounted and knotted. Though, it seems like she might've found a wolf that she finds to be suitable for her and his tastes.
Xisuma has no issue ignoring her suggestion and hopes that Jacq doesn't mind him dropping the Little Terror off on his doorstep for the night. He has some needs he needs to deal with.
