Firstly, irrespective of any romance, I think it is also interesting to explore the reactions of Prowl's family regarding her sexuality. Would her parents disown her? Do they have certain expectations for her? Would her siblings try their best to support her even if their parents don't? Does she have additional pressures as the oldest that she is trying to protect her brothers from? Or did Prowl grow up a lonely child, only adding to her loneliness? 

I imagine a young female Prowl growing up being treated as an outsider for various reasons, particularly her unrealised queerness and undiagnosed autism. She does not like the feeling of make-up on her face and she would rather dress for practicality than for the pleasure of others. Prowl also has a blankly blunt disposition that goes against the placating and constantly smiling appearance that society expect of an attractive young woman. And because she looks like a Barbie doll due to her slim waist, big boobs and long white blonde hair, people also expect her to be stupid. 

She grow up knowing that she was an other, even if she didn't understand why. And those around her, especially other children could also tell she was an other. even if they didn't understand why, yet still treated her as such.

Chromedome x Prowl

I already imagine regular yaoi Prowl and Chromedome to be Exs. I would imagine their relationship being similar to what @therightatriumoftheheart has made references too in their fic Private Life where Chromedome was a man.

After growing up ostracised I can imagine Prowl at first being surprised yet excited to find that Chromedome who respects her intelligence and demeanour. And Prowl in turn respects Chromedome's skills perhaps as a forensic detective who is also a bit blunt and is deeply fascinated by the decomposition of a body, something that most other people find disturbing.

I think that the both of them could mistake that connection for attraction. They could have been great friends, but society expects a man and woman to have a romance. And although Prowl tries to convince herself that attraction is what she feels for Chromedome because she enjoys his company and she can talk to him without his judgement, eventually, she is forced to conclude that despite the evidence she has compiled in her head, romantic attraction is not what she feels towards him. 

I can imagine that underlying tension building up a lot over time, as Prowl maybe grows more angry at herself as she struggles to understand and accept her own identity, that anger seeping into her interactions with Chromedome, causing their relationship to crumble. I can imagine their break up ending in a big fight, when that tension finally boils over. Prowl knows her anger is a result of her own issues, yet she can't help but feel resentful towards Chromedome for not being enough to fix her and for felling forced into this relationship by society even though she knows it is unfair to be resentful towards him for that. Although as a man, he may have placed expectations on her, leaning into societal expectations without even intentionally realising what he was doing. I can imagine Chromedome being angry when he realises that Prowl never truly loved him, even if he understands the struggle she has been through.

But I think that years in the future, when they meet once again where they are both happy with their respective partners, they can forgive each other.

Barricade x Prowl

Again Prowl would have once again grown up feelings like an outsider for reasons she doesn't understand just yet. 

Up until this point having only experienced loneliness, Prowl would be surprised at being approached by Barricade, a fellow police officer at her station, as she hadn't experienced anyone wanting to be her friend let alone a romantic partner. Maybe until then Prowl had not been on the receiving end of any romantic attention, at least none that she had noticed, and Barricade's attraction to her was not subtle at all.

Believing that this could be her only chance at being in a romantic relationship, something everyone needs to eventually be in to be successful at being normal and happy, Prowl agrees to date him.

Barricade isn't abusive. He's just your average dickhead loser. An anoyingly useless young man who incorrectly believes that he is God's gift to women because he goes to the gym more than once a week. A crybto-bro who expects a woman to pay for 50% of the bills whilst doing 100% of the housework and that he can genuinely beat Serena Williams despite the fact he has never played a game of tennis in his life. 

So Prowl finds herself cleaning up after all Barricade's messes, doing all the housework and keeping a record of their finances, becoming a barmaid whenever Barricade invites his friends over to their home to watch sports. 

Prowl is miserable but her relationship with Barricade is a reflection of her own parents relationship growing up and is what she has seen from others both in real life and on TV, so this is what she believes is normal. And after growing believing that something is wrong with her, Prowl wants to he sucessful at being perceived as normal. 

Of course, it wouldn't work out. Maybe Prowl gets offered a promotion over him at work over, Barricade is pissed and tries to talk her out of taking it at which point Prowl finally realises she is worth more than this. 

Prowl's siblings could be worried about her too, telling her that she deserves better. Or instead of her siblings, Bluestreak and/or Smokescreen could be Prowl's children instead. Her children being her only source of happiness during her relationship with Barricade. And instead it is Barricade refusing to do the bare minimum to care for their child that is Prowl's final straw. 

Barricade would be pissed at Prowl leaving because he lost his arm candy and now he has to do his own laundry and file his own taxes. Also no other woman is willing to put up with his bullshit. However I think Barricade would rather loose his parental rights than be forced to pay child support. An arrangement Prowl would be happy with too. 

Then ten years later Barricade would show up again having decided on a random Tuesday that he wanted to try this whole being a parent thing. Barricade is confused why his kid(s) don't like him. He realises that being a parent isn't easy or cheap so after a week he fucks off again for another ten years. 

Prowl isn't against Barricade being in their children's lives. But she is against him causing them physical harm by being unable to care for them or mental harm by constantly disappearing from their lives.

Tarantulas x Prowl 

Again, somewhat to similar to what I've said previously, after a lonely life up until this point, a young Prowl, fresh on the force, could meet Tarantulas, a forensic scientist through work. 

Tarantulas quickly becomes obsessed with Prowl, showering her with attention and gifts, that Prowl would only later realise was love-bombing. Again Prowl might not have experienced anyone showing romantic attraction to her at this point. She may have also experienced her superiors underestimating her, and her peers being uninterested in being friends for such a stickler to the rules. Prowl could mistake her happiness at her skills being recognised for attraction. 

Prowl's relationship with Tarantulas quickly becomes serious, with Prowl moving into Tarantulas' house and them having a child together. However, after the birth of Springer, Tarantulas tries to convince Prowl to give up her work entirely. At which point Prowl realises that Tarantulas has been displaying all the text book signs of potential abuse that Prowl had learnt to look out for as an officer. Other red flags include Tarantulas isolating Prowl from her siblings and co-workers, Tarantulas making her reliant on him for housing, food and finances, and Tarantulas trying to control her appearance and interests to make her a "perfect wife". Not long after this realisation, Prowl discovers that Tarantulas has been tampering with Prowl's medication and food her entire pregnancy for the sake of experiments and has been doing the same to Springer. Prowl leaves, refusing to allow herself or her son to be subjects for Tarantulas' experiments. 

But Tarantulas isn't willing to let his perfect specimens go. Trying to fight and sabotage Prowl for custody over Springer or claiming that for Prowl needs to be under his care for the sake of her health. When that doesn't work he reports to stalking, hareasment and attempted kidnapping. 

This leaves Prowl all alone once again, but now she has to deal with raising her son while dealing with her crazy ex, and realising her own sexuality. 

However, a different variation of Prowl's relations with Tarantulas could be where after a couple of failed relationships with men, Prowl realises and excepts her sexuality. Looking for a fresh start, Prowl moves stations where she meets fellow lesbian Tarantulas. But again, Tarantulas would get very intense very quickly, pushing Prowl for marriage and to carry their baby. Prowl leaves when she realises that Tarantulas is trying to isolate her and that the woman is crazy. 

This leads Prowl to believe that it doesn't matter what her sexuality is, the evidence shows that she will never be in a happy relationship. 

Until....

Jazz x Prowl 

As much as I do find it interesting to explore Prowl's past relationships, Jazzprowl is going to have to be my endgame! 

Again my thoughts on yuri Jazzprowl aren't too dissimilar to regular yaoi Jazzprowl.

Maybe human yuri Jazz is more confident in her sexuality and therefore more willing to openly flirt with women, one of those women being Prowl. Prowl both admires this but could also be jealous of Jazz's perceived confidence. Prowl could at first think that Jazz has had it easy compared to her. 

But Jazz would have grown up not only as a queer women but as a queer woman of colour, so she will have been through her own challenges regarding that additional element to her identity. She could have also struggled with undiagnosed ADHD, which unfortunately just like autism is also under-diagnosed in women and POC. So whilst Jazz appears confident, she has been through a lot to get to that point. And once again Prowl could be one of the few people who are able to see beneath Jazz's mask of confidence. 

Both being able to see through each other's masks, they are able to relate to the similar struggles they've been through, that connection turning into friendship, that friendship then developing into romance. 

I can see them being co-workers, working in whatever human company the Autobots would translate to, similar to how they meet in @silence-ofthe-llamas's fic Make It Real. Or I could see Prowl being dragged to a bar one night after work by her co-workers where she falls for the live singer Jazz.

Because they are human, I enjoy them both exploring fashion and self expression together too. Maybe Prowl has been wearing the same plain unassuming clothes all her professional life in an attempt to blend in with her co-workers and to be taken seriously. But Jazz can suggest outfits and hairstyles that make her feel happy and more like herself. 

You could also get the extra concept of Jazz not just being the Step-Mum, but the "Mum Who Stepped Up" if Yuri Prowl had any kids. 

Plus they would both have huge honkers!
