Sirius couldn’t help the grin that came onto his face when Regulus said he had detention. “What did you do?” he asked, the amusement clear in his voice. It was almost ironic that Regulus was in detention on one of the rare occasions that he wasn’t. Though he did wonder what their parents would have had to say about it.

Regulus glared slightly at his brother’s expression, knowing it was only a matter of time until he had found out about the detention but still unamused with the fact nonetheless. “I...had a disagreement about something with Rosier.”

“Did I stutter?” She replied shortly, though her lips turned up slightly into a smirk as she looked over to her cousin. After a pause, she sighed dramatically, “fine, sit. I’m feeling generous.”

“Good. Because I was going to sit here either way,” he replied with a roll of his eyes as he sat down at the table.

Evan smirked, Regulus was no match for him and he didn’t find the boy intimidating in the slight. “ Or what Black?” He said pulling out his wand. “ You sure walk away while you can.” 

Regulus didn’t pull out his wand just yet, but was ready to at a moment’s notice. “I’ll make sure that you regret it,” he replied, “I’m serious, Rosier. Don’t speak about my family like that.”

Evan rolled his eyes as he moved back. “ You are a disgrace to your name as is your brother.” He said moving closer. “ I don’t care for your empty threats.” He said

Evan’s words made Regulus narrow his eyes, standing up straighter as he looked at Evan. “Take it back,” he challenged, looking down at Evan.

“ And why not Regulus?” He said moving closer to the smaller boy. “ Piss me off I’ll hex you. I could careless who you are.”

Regulus instinctively took a step back as Evan moved closer. “You hex me and I’ll see to it that you regret it for the rest of your life.”

“ I won’t repeat myself Black.” He said glaring at the boy.

“You can’t hex me,” Regulus replied, the very thought of someone doing such a thing absurd to him.

Lucius raised an eyebrow at Regulus, “Maybe you should get a hobby.” He was joking, though his tone didn’t show it very well.

“Well, I’m open to suggestions because this castle is going to drive me absolutely insane otherwise.”

“How frustrating for you. Why are you listening to her, Regulus?” Rabastan questioned the younger boy, titling his head to the side slightly.

“Because I don’t want another detention?” Regulus replied, the sentence ending as though it were a question. 

Sirius rolled his eyes as he walked properly into the room. He had a feeling Regulus wouldn’t help him even if he could. “I’ll wait here then,” he replied, walking over the the professors desk and leaning against it, facing his brother. “What are you now, McGonagalls owl?”

Regulus considered agreeing to his brother’s assumption as it was arguably better than the truth but eventually shrugged and looked over at him. “No, I got stuck with detention.”

This was just typical. One of the very few times he actually wanted to find McGonagall and she wasn’t around. And to add to that, Regulus was the only other person in the room: Just his luck. “Well do you know how long she’ll be?”

“Can’t say that I do,” he shrugged, definitely not in the mood to help his brother even if he did know where the professor was.

Bellatrix was trying to pass the time, staring at a book more than reading it as she sat in the Great Hall. Could she have been doing homework or studying? Of course, NEWTs were coming up, but she hardly had the inclination to do so at the moment. She felt someone walk by or sit near her, catching movement in her peripheral vision, and without bothering to turn to them she simply stated, “that seat’s taken.”

“You can’t be serious, Bella. It’s like the only place left,” he replied with an annoyed sigh.

“ You do know you are speaking out loud and I’m about 2 seconds away from hexing you.”

“Excuse me?”
