Thank you. When I first got this message, I sat down and wrote for the first time in months. 2020 has been a bad year, to put it lightly. But, literally, thanks to this message (among other kind words!), I was able to finish “make the world afraid”, and feel good about going into 2021.

I just want to tell you I love 'you become' it's one of my favorite fanfics and I'm so pumped for an update like I just keep thinking about how the other monsters will react to knowing Papyrus' brother is actually real. Like I'm so excited if that happens I just wanna see the reaction of of everyone. I'll be so sad when this fic ends since I like it so much! Anyway I'm crazy excited to see more, thank you so much for your fic!

i think one of the coolest parts of undertale is how many things SEEM very difficult and dangerous but actually have built-in stuff to make them easy. like you almost cant die to toriel, you actually cant die to papyrus, and all of mettaton’s challenges are rigged in your favor. but the game never tells you that, so it feels really good when you beat them.

especially the “defuse the bomb” section, its very cool how it gives players that adrenaline-rush of “oooh i did it with ONE SECOND TO SPARE" without actually making that feat terribly difficult. same with how in the photoshop flowey fight, your health bar doesnt really accurately reflect your health, so you always feel like you won with only a sliver of health left.

most games shame you for not being about to do ridiculously difficult things, but undertale actually goes out of its way to make most players feel like some sort of daring action hero regardless of skill level.

in universe its also great because it means all these monsters see a small child and do the equivalent of dramatically falling over all “you have defeated meeeeeeeeee” when the baby shoots a finger gun at them
