lyon allard stim/autistic traits headcanons (written by an autistic person):
rocking - rocking would be his favorite i think, its just so deeply soothing
self injury - obviously this one is just a thing he does canonically, but it isnt explicitly stated to be a stim. i think it helps him ground and calm down when he's overwhelmed with negative and/or intrusive thoughts
avoiding eye contact - i think he would avoid eye contact but only when he's really stressed (i.e. meeting someone new, being in a new place, being unable to do other stims, etc. so his eye moves around really fast) or really relaxed (i.e. cuddling or hanging out with his partners, so his eye stays fixed on one point while he zones out) and other times he's ok with it
facial grimacing - at first he would only do it when he was super stressed (i.e. during a psychosis episode, if he's having hallucinations, or close to a meltdown, etc.) but after a while of hanging out with drifter and amir (i headcanon both as audhd) he would start doing it more often around them because he would feel safer and more relaxed knowing they wouldnt think he's strange or off-putting for it
groaning/moaning - i feel as though this one is also technically canon, but it isn't specifically stated to be a stim either. he tends to make "uhg" sounds often in his voicelines, so i think he would groan often as a way to relieve tension from his body. i also think he would do it more often when he's really overwhelmed and struggling to form words, but that would be less "uhg" and more "mmm"
acting like a cat - this one might sound strange at first but lots of autistic people like to mimic animals because it can be more comfortable and easier than mimicking the traits of other humans. i think he might have done it as a child, but then "grew out of it" (i.e. it became socially unacceptable). then i think after meeting amir and learning that he loves acting like a dog, then lyon would start acting like a cat again. i think he and amir would play with one another when theyre alone together
body fidgeting - lyon strikes me as someone who sometimes suppresses his stims (in the same way he canonically suppresses himself from talking too much) to try and appear less frightening or off-putting to others. i imagine he would instead do subtle body fidgets like finger- or hand-wringing, hugging/squeezing his own sides/arms/legs, touching his own hair repeatedly, and especially biting/chewing on his own fingers (though i think he'd try to avoid biting his nails). maybe he'd comb his hair more often than necessary and run his fingers through it often
infodumping - he canonically admits to suppressing himself from talking as often as he'd like, remarking that he has a tendancy to talk too much. i think if given the right topic (i.e. religion, anthropology, or history) then he could unintentionally talk a whole lot without even realizing it. i think if amir was muslim (or the warframe equivalent of muslim) then lyon would curiously ask him lots of questions about it, maybe even some that amir couldnt answer. he would also enjoy talking to lettie and eleanor about their respective religions too
deep pressure - i think the first time someone from the future introduces him to a soft hoodie, a weighted blanket, and a white noise machine, he genuinely feels relaxed for the first time in maybe forever. i also think he would get amir or drifter to lay on him with their full bodyweight
parallel play - he really likes to hang out with amir and drifter, but just by being in the same room. he really enjoys it when they start a conversation with one another because he can just sit in silence with no expectation to talk. sometimes he listens, but sometimes he doesn't. just being next to them feels like bonding to him
fidgeting/stimming with someone else's body (?) - im not actually sure what to call this one, but do you know that thing where you are close enough with a specific person that you sometimes forget that their body is their body with its own personal space and tactile sensation? yeah that. i think he would do some stims that he does to himself to amir and drifter unintentionally or without realizing that he's doing it, in a playful way. finger-wringing, but also absent-mindedly counting their fingers, swaying their arms around while hand-holding, petting their hair over and over for his own pleasure, or even rocking back and forth with them mid-hug. he would only do this after being in a relationship with the person for a significant amount of time
echolalia/vocal stims - not all autistic people repeat sounds or phrases, but i feel as though most of the other autistic people i know have at least one vocal stim. i dont think it would be a main stim in lyon's repertoire, though. i had to think about this one for a bit, but i think if lyon had any kind of prominent vocal stim of his own then it would be absentmindedly repeating prayers or scriptures. that, and he might unintentionally pick up some of amir's vocal stims (i.e. "pbbt," barking/meowing, baby talking, doing impressions/silly voices) but he would only do them after being in a relationship with him for a long time, in private, and when he's especially relaxed
