Temporary Blog Hold + Oversight’s Resignation

Good evening guys

Due to a great number of personal reasons, for each mod and myself, we are currently not able to maintain the blog to it’s capacity. We are all striving to achieve the utmost in our careers and education, and also balancing a lot in our lives, each a separate path and journey.

This makes being on frequently very harrowing, and we are incapable of currently maintaining the blog. This will result in a halting of all current projects and the end of submissions until further notice.

We want to thank everyone who follows this blog, the very great number of you, for making this a worthwhile experience and contributing to the fandom and community so positively! We appreciate each and everyone of you, and love you deeply.

With that being said, I, Amirah, the “oversight” of the blog, am currently undergoing a lot of changes in my life and balancing a lot of my own things, personal and business wise. I took on a lot of things this year and am currently preparing to move on to a new chapter of my life by May. These big, and sort of stressful things make it very difficult for me to continue my roll as an active participant in the blog and discord. While i still plan to update my fanfics, and participate in my small circles of amazing people I’ve befriended on here, I can no longer hold my position.

With that being said, if anyone is interested in overtaking the discord and believes they can genuinely help grow and cultivate a positive environment with great, fresh ideas for fandom events or discord events, please!!! message me! I’m currently reviewing people for the position, I will only privately answer people, nothing will be public. My blog is @philipsheaisbaby so feel free to contact me and I will get back to you ASAP! The only requirement is you have a discord, otherwise my judgement will be based simply on who I feel can do it best.

Thank you so much to everyone who has made this a worthwhile experience. You are all as wonderful and kind and amazing as when I met you. I wish you all the best in the world.

Good Afternoon fandom! The Macgyver content exchange is going on through October! There are TEN DAYS left to send us your applications

Why Halloween?

We know some other Macgyver Fandom groups are going to be hosting events in December, and so we wanted to host an October event since Halloween has been an important event to the Team All 3 seasons of Macgyver! We thought it’d be a fun way to connect the fandom

Why do we have to submit an application?

This allows us to match you with someone who can create something within the perimeters you provide! This allows each person to set their boundaries for the content they receive or create!

Who Can Submit an application?

Anyone can! Regardless of the content you create or the ships that you ship, if you’re part of the Macgyver Fandom, you can submit an application!

Is there a limit to what we can create?

We are Requiring it to be Halloween Themed!

When do we get the people we’re creating for?

Between September 26-October 1st

When do we post Our creations?

October 30th - 31st

What if I can’t think of a prompt?

We will connect with who you’re creating for and ask them what they want, OR we will create a prompt for you!

so SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATIONS asap!!! You have until September 25 to submit them, so get them in! We will be reaching out to everyone as of September 26 - October 1st about who they’re pared with!

I only saw the content exchange after I saw posts about starting a Mac Appreciation Event. Was that unfortunate timing or an intentional slight? (Genuine question, not an accusation, sorry if I seem rude I haven't slept)

i think just unfortunate timing! We’ve been planning this event since mid-july, I’ve been talking about it since late June, and I was planning to post it on August 30 but I was on vacation and so just failed to post it. And then we had some complications with our graphic (minor but still) so our September 2nd post date became September 9th.

So genuinely, we are not trying to outshine anyone or even believe they can’t coexist!

If the other event wants us to advertise them, we would love to! But the content exchange isn’t due until october, so we just want to get applications ASAP so people have a month to make their gifts!

We would love to participate and advertise to those who made that event, so please send it our way. And we hope you participate in our events too! We love, support, and want to help anyone in the fandom. This excludes nobody and our events are not the only ones that exist, so there’s no reason we can’t do both! Everyone gets a seat at the tables.

For those of you wondering, you can submit all of your applications for the HALLOWEEN CONTENT EXCHANGE here, OR you can post your applications on your blog and tag us in the application, but we are most likely to see ALL applications if they are in our inbox, this just makes it cleaner and easier to collect.

Inspired by many other fandom events that we’ve participated in, we’ve compiled ideas from those events and chosen to create a Content exchange of our own! This is open to ALL members of the Macgyver Fandom, regardless of ships / favorite characters / genre type!

This is going to be a bit like a Secret Santa type of thing, so you will submit an application to us, we will randomly generate a partner for you and you will create something for someone and get something in return!

Rules:

All content must surround a Halloween Themed Prompt (if you cannot think of a prompt or would like one given to you, we can contact

Submit an application with your username, what kind of content you create and what type of content you would like to receive (I.E: gifset, fanfic, moodboard, etc), REMINDER: if you want a specific ship, Genre and/or character to be the focus, PLEASE SPECIFY!

We will randomly match you with someone who creates the type of content you want created

All content MUST be Posted/Submitted on OCTOBER 30TH so your person can enjoy it on Halloween!

APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY WEDNESDAY SEPT 25! We will give you your partners Username by or before October 1st. This should give you one month to create your content and post/submit.

Operation Improvise

A plea to MacGyver fans:

Most, if not all of us, are aware that MacGyver likely isn’t coming back this Fall. And when it does come back, as of now, it’ll be a shortened season.

If you feel like MacGyver is constantly getting the shaft, you’re not the only one. It seems like MacGyver is always an afterthought compared to some of their other shows. Perhaps its ratings aren’t high enough to garner CBS’s adoration. (Though, they seemed to be holding their own just fine Fridays last season?) Maybe they recognize the loyal fan base and feel they can risk setting it aside to focus on their other shows for awhile. Maybe they’re already planning on ending MacGyver after it’s fourth season. Maybe we’re panicking for no reason. It’s anybody’s guess.

But I’m reminded of another little show that always used to be left in the shadows. It, too, seemed to be constantly ignored and shoved around in favor of more sparkly shows. Fans had to fight to be heard, to keep the show on the air every single year at the beginning. And fight we did. I don’t know how many times I voted that first year we got them on the front cover of TV Guide. My fingers, they hurt. We fought so much to put them front and center (‘cause damn, they deserved it) that for the last–I dunno, eight years, the show has had an express pass to early renewal. That show is Supernatural and it’s entering its fifteenth season. I’ve seen a lot of hate and threats of boycotts thrown at H50 and Magnum PI since the announcement that MacGyver would be a shortened season this year. These shows are in the same fight that MacGyver is in. Those actors didn’t make the choice to shorten MacGyver’s season. It’s not US vs. THEM. Frankly, we have enough of that going around in this world. So what do we do?

We improvise.

On September 27th H50 and Magnum PI return for their new seasons. If you watch and love the shows, support them: tweet, retweet, etc, about them. But also on September 27th (when MacGyver might have originally returned) from 8pm ET– 10pm ET (or as long as you can keep your eyes open and your tweets tweeting), lets collectively express our love for MacGyver. Not only to remind CBS that we’re still here, we’re still waiting and we want our show back, but to show others why MacGyver is worth keeping around. Let’s be heard. Keep it positive. There’s enough ugly in the world. Tweet about your favorite moments, favorite fanart or your own fanworks, why you love the show, or how it’s impacted your life. Tweet, retweet and so on, making sure to use the hashtag #MacGyver as you do.

In the meantime, keep converting those friends (which would be so much easier if it were on Netflix, right?), and pass this along. Spread it far, spread it wide. Let’s raise MacGyver up like the Phoenix it is.

Maybe it won’t change a thing, but it’ll show the cast and crew how much we love and appreciate the show and all that they do. That’s reason enough for me.

So, if you’re willing and able, raise your paperclips and join me for Operation Improvise on September 27!

MacGyver Photo Challenge Day Four: Mac in Plaid

so I love plaid, but I think my favorite Mac outfit is actually that sweater shirt thing he wears in 2x05 Skull + Electromagnet, or maybe that green shirt from 1x19 Compass, or the teal t-shirt in 1x05 Toothpick, or his white Henley in 2x12, (or that hospital gown)

but today is plaid day. My preference for Mac in plaid is usually blue (unless he’s getting his hair pulled…)
