“Of course I do.” She grinned with a laugh as well. “And you have learned amazing my young grasshopper.”

“Well, I have had years to observe the craft.” Theo joked. 

“That’s what I thought, your stomach is biggest than your whole body.” He smirked teasing her. “Very true so let’s go.”

“Well, hey, at least you know.” Theo laughed, rolling her eyes as she mocked saluted to the shop keeper on their way out. “How long was he railing on you, anyway?”

“I don’t care how long it’s been it sucks.” She told her with a slight groan. “Well care to share it with me sometime soon?”

“Being trapped here is all I’ve ever known, so I’m used to it. But yeah, it does suck and I bet it’s worse since you got to actually leave and do things before it happened.” She shrugged. “I did offer for a reason. Seriously, anytime.”

“If you know how to pay these and calculate a way to budget.. sure.” She smiled with a small laugh. “Well that’s nice. It’ll give us time together.”

“I’ve never had to do it, but I can stumble through figuring it out,” Theo laughed, taking a drink. “Yeah, if you’ve got some free time, I wouldn’t say no. I could use some mother/daughter time.”

“Exactly! It’s like people forgot that we’re trapped in this hell hole and it’s not like I can just siphon it out because it’s because of those beasts alive.” She groaned rolling her eyes. “A few years. They sit on mine and Josie’s shelf.”

“I think a lot of them have just gotten comfortable with it because it’s been so long. Which isn’t great, but it happens,” Theo shrugged. She dreamed of the day she could see more of the world. “Well, whenever you want someone to rifle through books, let me know. I’ve gotten pretty good at research.”

“Don’t they? They make me want to stab my eyes out.” She groaned and rolled her eyes. “Just one look and I can scare someone away.” She grinned now at this point as she sat up.

“Oh, but you have such pretty eyes,” she teased with a laugh, shaking her head. “Where do you think I learned it from? You’re the master for a reason.”

Killian slipped his arm around her shoulder nodding his head. “How about we go grab lunch instead?” He told Theo as his eyes narrowed to the worker.

“It sounds like a far better plan to me. You know I can always eat,” Theo shrugged. “I’m sure anywhere’s going to get us better service than here.”

“The first half of the shift was pretty quite.  Someone came in around 2am but I just to the preliminary paperwork.  Seems like an overdose,” Because it came in so close to the end of his shift he was going to do most of the work tomorrow night.  He wanted time to get everything done.  “You should ask me tomorrow.  It should be pretty busy.”

“Nothing wrong with that, I guess. Quiet can be good.” Theo offered with a shrug. It hadn’t worked for her lately, but that was her own problem. “I can do that. You ever get tired of me constantly asking about your job?”

Shaking her head she looked up toward her daughter, “Nothing bad but nothing good and exciting, just normal bills.” She told her as she put her pen down. “You’re off early aren’t you?”

“Fun stuff. Do you want any help?” She offered, shrugging her shoulders at her mother’s question. “Yeah, a little. My boss gave me the afternoon off since a lot of the kids were picked up early and they didn’t need everyone there.”

Elena set in the kitchen going through some of the bills as she pushed her hands through her hair until she heard a voice. “Kitchen!” She called out figuring her daughter would know that it was her that was at home.

“Hey, mom,” Theo spoke with a small smile as she made her way into the kitchen. She wandered over toward the fridge to grab water and a snack, leaning against the counter once she found something. “What’s that, anything good?” She asked, nodding toward the papers.

“True I guess you’re right” she replied with a shrug of the shoulders as she smiled towards the girl, “I’m about to order a pizza you fancy anything?” The young girl replied as she grabbed her phone from the coffee table and gave the older girl a smile.

“I’m partial to mushrooms but I’ll eat practically anything, I’m not picky.” Theo shrugged with a small laugh as she made herself comfortable. “You want me to pay? It’s the least I can do since you’re letting me crash your night.”

Looking toward Theo, it made Killian raise up a brow looking to her with a slight grin on his lips when he looked back to the shop keeper. “See, I even had an alibi and why would someone lie like that?” He questioned as he tilted his head to the side. “Maybe we will take our business elsewhere.”

She shrugged in response, trying not to draw attention to her stepping in like she did. At least, not with the manager, or whoever it was. “Maybe we should, if they’re jumping to rude accusations like that.” Theo crossed her arms.

“Yeah-yeah, hello to you too, now are you going to help me?” Lizzie asked always forgetting the politeness of a hello greeting and small talk with people.

“I’ll help, give me some of those.” Theo spoke, holding her arms out for some of the books. Research beat any other option she had, and maybe they’d get lucky. 

“Oh great.” She groaned but a small laugh came from her as well turning to look toward her friend. “Idiot people who think that they’re so entitled walking into the gym at work today.”

“Gross. People suck.” Theo sighed. “I’d go do the whole ‘small but mighty’ thing and scare the assholes into being decent, but I have a feeling it wouldn’t be quite as effective as I’d like, considering you have that on lock.”

Alaska was exhausted after work and was ready for bed and since everyone was always killing themselves after Halloween to sign up for the gym or be at the gym she was just ready to be home. Falling onto her bed she let out a heavy sigh hearing her bedroom door open. “What the hell do you want?” She groaned out as she continued to just lay there.

“This great concept called friendship, you see.” Theo laughed as she shrugged, inviting herself in despite her friend’s obvious disinterest. She dropped down next to her on the bed. “Your dad let me in on his way out. What’s got you all grumpy?”
