“I’ll pinch you,” she said with an air of humor as she smiled at him, “We’ll count your fingers, we’ll look outside, I’ll prove it to you in whatever way I can,” she said sincerely. She tilted her head at his worrying over and shook her head. “Damn it Stiles, you look after everyone and won’t let anyone look after you,” she bit her bottom lip and then looked at him. “Let me try and look after you. You don’t scare me and nothing you say or do will ever scare me.”

“I think I’ll take that as a compliment because yes, you’ve compared me with good ol’ Cap.” Peter chuckled as he walked to her. “And for your information, no, I still haven’t got that very useful power yet. Unfortunately.” 

“I don’t know- I don’t know how very useful that talent would be. Unless you decided to turn criminal and spy on attractive people OR you could use it to AVOID such situations so-” she nodded thoughtfully, “Maybe that should be your next project. Incorporating precognition into your arsenal.” She smiled at him and pushed her hair out of her face. “What’s up, Arachniboy? Catch any flies today?” 

           “I would assume you need a nap,” Pietro replied. What a strange thing for someone to say. Nevertheless, he still tried to imagine what she mean. “You require glasses, da?” He asked after a moment, wondering if she meant she was partially blind or something. “I am Pietro, is nice meeting you, strange girl.”

Leila felt her heart practically stop at the accent. Dear Lord did that sound nice. “A nap?” she asked finally registering what the young man had said. “Nah,” she concluded looking back over the dance crowd. It was one of her nights off from DJing but she loved music and often found herself here- at the club. “I just- thought I saw like- this flash of color and-” she gestured in a zigzag motion through the crowd. “Nevermind, pleasure to meet you, Pietro. I’m Leila but please do continue to call me strange girl, makes me sound mysterious.”

“Exhaustion breed insanity,” she said softly looking up at him, “If- Your blacking out could be your body catching up on the sleep you’re depriving it of, two days without sleep and the brain goes into microsleeps, tiny bouts where the brain shuts down even if you’re not aware of it,” she bit her bottom lip. “Do- Would you like to spend a night with me? I mean- I can look after you so if you have a bad dream I can tell you you’re really awake and- we can-” she shrugged looking down. “You’re not insane just- exhausted Stiles. A lot’s happened.”

Brutus saw her move in position, startling him for he saw the quick movement out the corner of his eye. He relaxed upon seeing it was only her. A odd noise abrupt from his shoulder as he rolled it. Brutus had felt his prosthetic was growing stiff for his lack of movement. “Just.. forgot where I was…” he muttered, still holding the cigarette between dry lips. Grey eyes seemed glazed over when the phone was offered. “I don’t..” He couldn’t recall the number to the facility.  

She smiled lightly, hoping to warm him up to her as she rolled the phone between her fingers. “Don’t worry about it,” she assured tucking the phone back in her pocket. She heard the odd noise from his shoulder but only gave his shoulder a curious look before looking back at him. “Do you remember where you came from? If not- I mean I could- you could maybe-” she bit her lip and looked around before sighing softly and looking at him, “You can stay with me? I have a guest room and maybe after you sleep whatever this is off you’ll remember.”

“You can do that? Make a song? How intriguing – I think I would like that”

“I can make music, I play instruments and make remixes on my laptop. What kind of music do you like? Maybe sometime you can come over and we can fool around-” she paused midbite, “with the music. Fool around with music like remixing and stuff. Music.”

He then stood up from where he was sitting. “Just give me the address. I don’t have time for this right now, stalling.”

“I’m going with you,” she said grabbing her phone and keys, walking past Stiles towards her door. “She’s my sister if she’s in trouble I’m going to be there to help her.”

“Well I don’t have Peter’s number in my phone. I know you blame me if she is missing. It’s my fault, I know.”

“I kinda tend to blame Lydia for the messes she gets into, just like I blame you for getting into the messes you get into,” she said thoughtfully as she looked around for her phone. Usually Lydia would spare her the courtesy of a text if she was going out with someone or something along those lines. Especially when Leila was home alone. She looked at Stiles. “I’ve never blamed you and I’ve never blamed Scott, I’m not into that. Things happen and- she’s okay. If it was something dangerous there would be some sort of sign, a scream, a scene, a ransom,” she paused and stood by her dresser where her phone was charging, “Then again I could be being ridiculously optimistic...”
