This is probably silly but I trust people who complain about their job in front of clients more. In a public facing job, complaints like that almost always means the person doing it is irreplaceable at their job and they can't just fire them for making the business look bad.

As a patient I love the "switch and relax" thing where professionals realize I'm cool. The VA offered rainbow lanyards for staff badges a few years ago and I always compliment them when I see them because seeing it instantly makes me feel just a little safer even though i make sure the VA never knows I'm trans. The complimenting rainbow gear always makes them realize I'm cool and it's funny how everyone instantly relaxes and the small talk changes because now they know I'm safe too.
