I just logged in after a year to congratulate Yahoo on the $3M sale of tumblr. Hell of a return on $1.1B. Not saying banning NSFW content caused that, but it sure as hell didn’t help.

Thought I’d come back and take one last look...had many many notes and questions waiting for me about how to move the content, where was I going to move the content to, what was the new name, etc. I’m not going to. We’re just done here, I’m afraid.

So it’s official. I’ll miss you, sweeties. Be good to each other!

Well...tumblr is still banned from the Apple AppStore, NSFW searches have been disabled across all platforms, favorite blogs have disappeared, and my traffic has plummeted. And tumblr is staying mum about what the long term implications are. I guess the end is near, folks.

Well, now it seems I can’t turn off safe search on my desktop either. Don’t know if this is the end of nsfw tumblr or not...

Ok, so here’s what I’ve been able to find out: there were some complaints of kiddy porn (eww!!) on tumblr, and Apple dropped the app from their App Store. Tumblr has been busy purging nsfw blogs to meet Apple’s requirements, and in iOS (which I use) has disabled safe mode “off” searches. They haven’t announced any policy change, but we’ll see what happens...

I’ve seen several blogs I follow get disappeared over the last couple of days...if I suffer the same fate I’ll miss you! Good luck!
