Jesse felt himself chuckle at the women’s words before shaking his head “why do I feel like that line would 100 percent work on anyone you used it on?” He joked before removing a lightbulb from his pocket to screw into the candler, climbing down the ladder. “I’m afraid I’m happy to see you but not in a way you could physically tell” He teased her before turning to face her “Is this your way of hitting on me Diana? If so I’ll lock up these doors and let you whisk me away to parts unknown”

Jesse’s question put a smile on Diana’s face, and she shrugged her shoulders. “Because it more than likely would. People cannot resist my Themysciran beauty.” Sometimes, her looks worked in her favour. Other times, they gained unwanted attention from those around her. She raised an eyebrow when he pulled a lightbulb out of his pocket. “That could have ended badly. Imagine if it smashed. Ouch.” Leaning against the wall, she watched him climb down the ladder, a genuine laugh leaving her lips. “Oh yes, of course. Where do you want to go, Jesse? I can fly you there. I hear that Cancun is nice.” 

Diana had met Jim at a bar, and he’d offered to walk her home. While they were walking, she’d gotten to know a little bit about him. He worked for the NYPD, which explained why he was such a gentleman, and so concerned about her geeting home safely. She’d also learnt that he was awkwardly flirty, and that he preferred looking at her face, over her body, unlike the other men at the bar. As they reached the front door of her apartment, Diana let go of Jim’s arm and smiled at him. “Thank you for walking with me, Jim. I appreciate your kindness.” Leaning forward, she pecked his lips sweetly. Just a little something to make him smile, and feel her appreciation. “Do you want to come inside? I have coffee, and whisky. 

          steve let out a sigh, happy that he hadn’t hurt her but he still felt bad for her getting caught up in his fight. he had stumbled upon some guy trying to rob a store and steve had chased him, ending up knocking the woman into a nearby wall “i’m still sorry that you got hurt. if you’d like i can walk with you back to the store a couple blocks back, an ambulance will be there with the cops.”

            “there are times i do miss it, but i was fighting with a bow and arrow. do you know how weird it is to fight robots in a flying city with a weapon from the palaeolithic era? it’s incredibly weird.” clint laughed “oh, you must have never met a sleep-deprived personal assistant running late trying to get thirty coffees for a meeting, it’s a different kind of action but it can still be exciting. besides, i got a kid to look after so maybe it was time to trade bravery for common sense.”

The pair had been watching one of zatanna’s favorite christmas movies when she first noticed diana braiding her hair. zee didn’t mind it at all. in fact, she found it to be a kind gesture. sometimes, she felt she missed out on the normal life since she’d spent most of her life on the road with her father. she’d wished for a sister or a mother to help guide her, but her father did his best to fill both roles until his passing. to zatanna, diana was the closest thing to a sister that she had. “i don’t mind, diana,” she laughs. “you do it better anyway. i always get those fly away hairs when i try. i’m just glad you made it here tonight,” she smiles. since leaving the league, she hasn’t seen much of the old crew and she’d be lying if she said she didn’t miss them.

Diana smiled when Zee said that it was okay. Having someone to do these kind of things with meant the world to her. Being away from Themyscira made her miss Hippolyta, along with all the other Amazons. It was nice to have a girlfriend in the city -- someone she could trust and talk to. “I have had years of practice,” she laughed. “You can get to my level of skill if you become immortal,” Diana teased. Hearing her friend say that she was glad she came filled her with warmth. She would do anything for Zatanna, even if she wasn’t a league member anymore. To Diana, she would always be family, and she loved her very much. “Of course, Zee. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. We need to do this more often, and more importantly, I need to meet this boyfriend of yours!”

He nodded when she said she would. He felt a bit soothed for only a moment but then she continued, saying how she would second guess herself if it made her question her morality. His lips curled into a tight smile and the tension was right back on his mind again. Was Stephen second guessing himself? Did he think this relationship between them wasn’t worth it? After all, Edward was a bad person. He didn’t just take one life. He had taken many. He’d be classified as a serial killer by now and surely his boyfriend knew it. He wondered what Stephen thought of it. Wondered if it might be worse if he didn’t care. 

“Get your first love back?” Finally something to change the topic in his own mess of a mind. If I could get my first love back. He bit the inside of his cheek, remembering Kristen. Her lovely red hair, the way her glasses perched on the top of her nose. Her kind smile. “What happened to them? If you don’t mind my asking…” 

Diana tensed up when the stranger asked what had happened to Steve. It was something that she hated remembering but thought about often. If only she could’ve helped him -- she should’ve stopped him. “He died,” she replied, taking a deep breath after her words. She wasn’t angry at Steve for what he’d done, because she would’ve done the same thing if she was in his shoes. Saving innocent people had always been the most important thing to her, and he’d felt the same way. “He was flying a plane. The engine failed. He was killed.” It was a minor lie, but she couldn’t tell the truth. She couldn’t say that it was during the war and that he’d blown himself up to save innocent lives. Diana looked far too young to have been alive during that time.

With a smile, she turned to the man beside her. “Why do you ask? Are you having love life problems?” She wanted to get the focus off herself. Talking about her old flame was painful, and she still missed him dearly. His beautiful eyes, his strong arms wrapped around her, and his smile. Steve Trevor was her soulmate, and he always would be, even in death. “Maybe I can help?”

Mazikeen was aware that her approach to certain things might not have been the standard. She was a demon, not that everyone knew that, but really they shouldn’t have expected her to be well-behaved. She practically looked for trouble, but some people just thought it was good to get in her business. She wished this lady would put her mouth to other uses besides just telling her that she was being too aggressive. Like yeah, maybe the guy was bleeding too much. Sure, he probably needed to go to the hospital, but that wasn’t her problem. “He’s fine,” Maze insisted. “He can get new blood later.”

           bruce was the one that normally dealt with other league members, not that tim was opposed to interacting with them… he had on occasion, but it was just something bruce would do. so tim was a bit surprised when diana had asked him to meet with her. he showed up about twenty minutes early, laptop and coffee in hand. as he waited he was tapping away on the computer, seemingly oblivious to the world around him. “i will say, it’s not everyday i get a phone call from a princess, it’s quite exciting.” he looked up as she walked into his field of view “how can i be of service?”

          caroline pulled her hand from the woman to take the drink as it was sat in front of her, taking a small sip “a beautiful name for a beautiful woman. i’m caroline, it’s a pleasure to meet you beautiful diana.” she was flirting now, not that she hadn’t been the whole time but she was enjoying herself more than she intended to “oh! so you want to take me home? what if i get cold. would you help warm me up?”
