theme number 5 with some style changes and a little more simple because theres less options
some feature include up 8 menu links and menu is optional, show/hide tags and captions, 400 or 500px posts, and optional borders.
It was a surprise to me how often I get questions about static previews from how to what. Hopefully this will help confused theme users and makers out there. I not only explain what they are and why theme makers need to use theme more but how to create them.
sorry its been so long since my last theme! this one took me forever because im lazy @_@ but basically i like the minimal themes ppl are using so here is yet another for you.
features | code | live prev.1 | live prev.2 | live prev.3 (all temp)
and just in case you wanted it heres a tutorial to remove the follow button from your blog.
more stuff below the cut
in the sidear buttons i also included the option to hide or show a 3rd button, the about button, so that you could link to your about / links page right from the buttons, like this
i didnt know if people would want that there or if they wanted the menu only so you can turn it off. also, just as a tip, to remove the sidebar picture you have no flip the switch off, and remove the picture itself from the list of options.
some features include hiding / showing the tags and captions, different display options for the sidebar (buttons, menu navigation w/ 4 links), bottom image on the left or right side, optional borders, optional box shadow, and a hover affect on the footer and button. posts are 500px or 400px
500px posts, hide or show tags, custom colors for everything pictured, just a pretty simple code w/ a clean look ive been working on. idk i like it :V let me know if theres any issues and ill be glad to help fix 'em
chrome users read this post about the disappearing backgrounds

because of the way tumblr handles photosets, the follow button and photoset posts both disappeared when you used the last tutorial i saw floating around. heres one that works without removing your photosets, and also how to install this handy little “read ___ before you follow me” block, like this
tumblr uses an attribute called an “iframe” to display photosets, which is why you cant affect individual pictures in a photoset on your blog (ex. if you have gray scale or fading images, when you hover over a photoset, ALL of the photos regain color / come back to full opacity and not just the one youre hovering over.)
like this
its also why you can apply affects to the frame around the photos but not each photo itself, like the rounded edges in this photo
the old tutorial was a simple line of code to have no display for the iframes, which conveniently made your follow button disappear, but also made every other iframe disappear as well, like your photo/gif sets.
so click here for the pastebin code + instructions to install the code to hide the follow button
and click here for the pastebin code + instructions to install the “read my ___ before you follow me”
to add a follow button to your about page once youve removed it from the top of your blog, like this
simple add a link to your about as “http://tumblr.com/follow/[YOUR URL HERE]”
the only issue with this is that it removes the “edit” and “view” button, so youll have to actually go to the post on your dashboard or posts to be able to edit it. alternatively you can take the post url
