Lately, I've been watching a lot of streamers play Kingdom Hearts for the first time (which is letting me relive the games in order again, and also notice a number of things I hadn't before:))

And I clocked that in KHI, Sora grabs Riku's face (his mouth), when he runs into him in Traverse Town, to make sure he isn't hallucinating him (like he thought he had been his "visions" of Kairi). And then in Dream Drop Distance, when Sora and Riku are in different imaginings of Traverse Town, Riku tries to grab Sora's face.

We do not talk enough about how crazy happy Riku looks staring at Sora while racing in this KH1 cutscene. Like he’s looking at him the entire time.

I think this is the happiest and most emotive we ever see Riku. Like c’mon
